Really cool review. I have been looking at this lil speedster for a bit now and comparing it w the WRX and a few other cars. It does seem to have a decent bit of practicality to it and looks like an enjoyable drivers car! I am a bit of a horsepower adrenaline junkie, but it seems sufficient to thrash about in! Have you taken long trips in it? Again, I love the format of your video and it is much more balanced than the typical bloke here in USA trying 5 cars a day or week and criticizing things far too much. It often seems less a review than a critique. One question, is the horsepower actually higher than it is rated? I have seen people say that you actually have more than Subaru states. Also, with an air filter kit and exhaust, how much does that move the needle?

@@andrewSUN17 I don't think the HP is more than what it's rated for, at least not here anyway. Also, the only thing that will give a tiny bump in power is headers with a tune. A bit more noticeable power will be E85 after that and if you really want more power then you have to go turbo or supercharger. Anything else will be unnoticeable to be honest.

Good review. I'd add that not being fast and being merely fast enough is what makes it so much fun! You can wring its neck without fear of going straight to jail. I've driven a 911 and they are in a different league of performance. A 911 is a very serious sports car with very high limits that I can't get close too. Whereas the BRZ limits are lower and you can have fun with that. I'd even argue that you will get more smiles driving the BRZ around then the 911.

Cheers Lach, great review thanks! IMHO the elephant in the room is the oil. 15k intervals on 0W-20 is only ticking compliance boxes and has nothing to do with proper protection and longevity. My 2023 Oz delivered BRZ got 5W-30 at 1500km, 4500km and 8500km, from now on it'll be 5k intervals. It also got a HARROP s/c which at around 300rwhp (5psi) simply transforms the whole experience. BTW I dropped the pan at 1500km and it had almost no RTV. For occasional track use I will be fitting a VERUS large capacity aluminium pan when they become available.

@@davidgoliath5901 100% agree with 15,000kms being too many kms for a boxer engine. I leave mine for 10k maximum. I do think the 0w-20 is still okay but on track I'd be more comfortable with something thicker that's for sure. Do you have Instagram? I would love to see a few pics of the supercharger and a video of your 0-100 time!

Nice vid man. I'm thinking a Harrop supercharger would be better for this car though.

@@sokhar69 I would love to test drive a supercharger vs a turbo to see what they're both like! Either way more power 😎

I chose the Harrop. Instant power, simple super neat install. The FA24 engine characteristics are kept, just elevated to another realm. Fitted by Harrop themselves in Melbourne, professional and great to deal with.

You are a little harsh on the poor BRZ for its 6.6 0-100 km/h time. No the Camry won't beat that at its 7.2 seconds. What small and relatively affordable sports coupe is faster? Oh, thats right there aren't any! The MX-5 has similar pace and you have to spend a lot of money for a BMW 2 Series to actually go faster.

@@limewhite71 Okay maybe a little harsh, I still don't think it's fast but I think that's because I miss a turbo so much 🥲

I got the new BRZ tS a couple of months ago and love it but live in fear of getting a flat. The dealership wanted $1400 for a spare so I told em to go to buggery. Can anyone give advice where I can get a basic compact spare that both fits in the wheel well and also the Brembo brake calipers of the tS.?

@@RealMr_Wonderful couldn't you just get a tyre repair kit? They're like 20 bucks here for 5 repairs. I've used one already
@RealMr_Wonderful11 күн бұрын
@@00Lach Thanks for the reply. Yeah they provided one with the car but nothing beats an actual spare. I'm in a semi rural area and punctures are common.

@@RealMr_Wonderful Do you have a full sized spare in your boot like me? Or is there at least space for one? Surely you can just buy some second hand BRZ wheels from any generation and they'll fit
@RealMr_Wonderful11 күн бұрын
@@00Lach I have space for one but would have to cut a hole in the lift up panel. Its hard with the 24 tS coz the wheel size is 19 inch and the Brembo calipers are larger. I really like your wheels so one solution might be to get a set of those and use an original as a spare.
