I currently drive a 2020 Si Coupe. I'm trading in the Si for the base model 2023 WRX Friday. I can't wait to drive the WRX. Doesn't look like this car has rev hang which is nice. Si has tons of it and it's one of the reasons I'm getting rid of the Si. After 5 years of owning Honda vehicles, I am switching over to Subaru. It'll be my first Subaru vehicle. I'm so goddamn excited to get the car.

The Honda is a really nice car! My buddy had a 6 speed in his and the car was surprisedly quick! Great on gas, but he did end up having issues with the clutch and warranty stuff done eventually sold it to carvana and made out ok! I tested out an accord and loved it except the CVT. I just rolled 10k miles on my WRX and I must say it's probably one of my favorite cars to drive! I'll be making an update soon as I get time.

@bmfspeedshop4562 I like the Civic as well but I don't like the rev hang and the clutches on the generation Si's I have are junk unfortunately. My dad and stepmom used to have a WRX and I drove theirs and I absolutely loved it. I've wanted my own WRX since then. Looks like a blast to drive. I can't wait to get it. Less than 14 hours to go and I'll be at the dealership getting it. So goddamn excited.

@bmfspeedshop4562 I love it. Best purchase I've made this year. No rev hang and the car drives awesome. Clutch is good in it too so that's good. Glad I made the switch. I had to get used to the clutch and shifting as I gotta shift and let the clutch out faster in this car than I did in the Si but I love this car way more and I absolutely love that there's no rev hang. All in all, I'm super happy with it and I have a blast every time I drive it.

@@riley1733 that's how I feel as well! Such an enjoyable car to drive! The clutch is different and very tight I'd say even compared to my 2023 Crosstrek 6MT it's way different clutch and shift feel.

Looking at getting the same base trim. If you don't mind me asking, what was the final negotiated price before tax, title, additional fees and registration? The MSRP for the base trim here in New York is $30,605 + the transportation charge of $1,030 bringing the total to $31,635.

Well that I can't tell you the exact amount but it's pretty much the same here in Wisconsin with the taxes and fees and the dealership knocked off 1500$ and threw in the 100k extended warranty. They also gave me a great trade in on the outback a few thousand more than our local dealer.

I like this car in base trim. It’s more about its intended purpose. It has the manual parking brake and fewer electronic unnecessaries. Same colour as my Crosstrek Onyx. Ideally I would have one of each.

Yep I also have the 2023 crosstrek base 6MT for my wife.. we like the simplicity of the base models. Having a real e brake handle is a must! Our former car the 19 outback had the button and it would randomly get pushed accidentally reaching for stuff stuff and also got coffee spilled into it and became sticky due to it's location next to the cupholder so the real handle is better design. The boot already got some coffee on it lol but The only options we got are the all weather mats, sun visor, cargo hooks and net. I feel like the base model gives the new WRX a much more analog retro feel and we like that alot.

Not really, I would not mind a sunroof but I didn't want the added chance of a leak. I picked up some heated seats pads for 10$ from wally to add the heated seats for cold days. I like the simplicity of the base and the smaller screens and heat controls are easy to use.
