2023 Toyota Camry SE Walkaround & Review!!!

We just purchased 2023 model (Base Model). It has a key for doors, ignition and trunk. Also, tradition emergency brake (non electric). Toyota fixed the direct injection problem in 2016 (valves not getting cleaned). The eight speed not CVT transmission is smooth and efficient. Fuel mileage includes 28 to 31 city and 38 to 41 highway. The dealerships are pricing them lower to get ready for the next model year. Do some genuine research and you will know. Todays vehicles are too expensive. This is a excellent purchase. Take care of your Toyota and it will take care of you. Oh, I did all the research for 2018 to current. The 2018 thru 2021 had the most problems. Toyota repaired this, so the 2023 is the beat year. I would get a Reservoir or Calvary Blue SE with either black, but preferably grey interior. I would get the OEM exterior black out emblems and door side window trim. Someone should make the black trim for the chrome on the outside rear view mirrors. Legal smoke tint windows. So glad this doesn't have auto start/stop and has map storage pockets behind both front seats, a rarity on most cars nowadays. Very nice, solid mid sized car with sporty appearance, handling. Decently good power with reliability, durability, dependability and longevity for the 2.5L 4 cylinder. Great car out of the box, minimal things you need to add if you want to fix it up.

I love mine. I got the 22 SE with the convenience package and sunroof. Silver with black interior. Factory blacked out emblems. 27% ceramic tint on the windows. Factory accent lights and blacked out lexus led tails. Spent less than $38k on everything.

Nice video Eli, but you forgot to pop the hood! (?) The window sticker indicated a 2.4-cylinder engine though. I like the fact that this trim has a keyed ignition and Toyota has kept the traditional gear shift; not a fan of the push-button start or push-button and dial gear shifts that other auto manufacturers have moved to. I currently drive a 2004 Camry LE with, believe it or not, 59k miles, and is a great car. If, and when, I decided to give her up, the SE trim appears to be the one for me. Oh, by the way, I have short alligator 🐊 arms too! 😂💪. Watching in Dallas, Texas!! Peace ✌️!!

Great review. Question: can I play my own music on the sound system - via USB stick or some other means? It appears they want to lock you into a subscription for music besides AM\FM.

It has android auto and apple carplay (wired) Bluetooth as well. USB storage is likely doable but I haven’t tried it. Would require using the USB port as CarPlay and auto though. The others just charge

Only available w an 8 speed auto. It’s a great trans though. I prefer manual but it’s nice. Paddles work well too on se

Any watching do not buy the 23 camry model year, 24 camry is getting totally redesigned and is the next generation, I WOULD wait for the 24 model year because its only 6 months away or so and has way more features standard and way much better styling and interior and exterior, trust me. I got a 22 xse awd and Ive only had it for 6 months, but i cant wait for the next gen.

Toyota or not, if you are smart you would not buy the first gen of any car typically because it has not been proven yet, just a heads up. Also, the new redesigned camry will be revealed in 2024

More than likely, the Camry will be similar to the Accord with turbos and hybrid power trains. The current Camry is simple and efficient with plenty of power for its intended purpose.

2023 model year will be well built. By the third year toyota has fixed all the mechanic and programming flaws. So, the 23 model will be the most reliable. The 24 model starts all over with issues like the 2018 model did.

This car has BIG problem with OIL Consumption AND throttle. After 150 000 km, the problem will occur and Toyota has always refused to fix. Your car became garbage as you can only drive within the city as it is impossible to go up the hill. Most of Camry cars have the same problem. You can ask all mechanics to ask. Myself, I had 2 Camrys and exactly the same problem that occurs. Waste of money to buy it. Before I had lot of respect for Japanese culture because they are honest. But now I have different perception.

These do not have oil consumption problems. You may be referring to older models with the 2AZ or 2AR.

I've been told that the newer Camrys don't have that oil burning problem. Which was attributed to the piston rings selections.
