We have this exact car, we love it and gets 47 mpg on the highway at 63 mph. This is the first Toyota car we have ever owned, it's great.

The sound in the back is probably the battery cooling fan.

Brake torque do it again
@EngineAdventures Жыл бұрын
It's funny how modern vehicles work, brake torqueing is a pain. For some they just won't do it, for others you have to have the car on a specific drive mode and turn off traction control. I prefer a real world 0-60 where you let off the brake and go full throttle. The other problem is battery systems output more power when they are full, so testing 0-60 runs back to back typically means the first run is faster and the following runs get progressively slower as the battery runs lower. For real racing, brake torqueing is the way to go, for real world daily driving (and the way we test) not brake torqueing is easier and more typical of what an owner will actually experience.

This doesn't have a torque converter so brake torquing it would do nothing.

This being the replacement of the Avalon is so sad. The latest Avalon might not have been pretty with the insane grill Toyota gave it but it was a sleek, roomy sedan. This Crown apparently feels cramped.

I've honestly never been in an Avalon, but I don't feel like the crown would be cramped for most people. I do like full size sedans, but the market in general loves crossovers.

Never would even look twice at any Toyota till the Crown, it's a great car.
