Everyone who can't get over the end watch chase card coverage. They said themselves the fact only one person can be on the tee box on 18 and how far away you are at the time you couldn't tell. Watching the replay it clearly never crossed. If there ever was such thing as reply it could cause a long back up
@postscript3150 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, it clearly didn't cross inbounds. 4 inches left of the OB at the time it hit the ground. Another tough call benefiting the player by a large amount. Wild!

I’m pretty sure Holyn had two illegal puts on hole 8 of round 3 and on hole 15 of round 4. Watch hole 8 round 3 for a really clear shot of how her last point of contact with the ground is NOT her disc foot. And then on hole 15 in round 4 she does the same thing around a tree (you can’t see her feet but you can tell it’s the same motion). By doing this she is effectively moving her mini 3 feet to the side and making the putt around the tree much easier. Regardless though, congrats on the win and on an incredible final round!

Holyn Handley's shot on 18 never got inside the bounds. I play tournaments in the female category and have seen way too many girls be afraid to force a competitor to apply the proper rules. Too often they're scared to come off as mean, but you have to protect the field. Tattar should have won this one...

It's the same on the mixed side.

The FPO is supposed to be professional but they are very easy on each other. Don't get me wrong, I love the good vibes and high fiving cheering each other on. But all too often there are things where they ignore the mistakes like it's just a few buddies playing a friendly round. Look at Kristin's foot faults for example, no one's said anything and she misses her plant leg extremely often by quite a bit. If a buddy of mine does that, I don't care at all and would never call it as a fault that affects the scores. But I would point it out to make them aware of a bad habit, cause they wouldn't want to do that in a tournament setting. Kristin and by extension the FPO should be held to a way higher standard.

Congrats to Holyn, but after watching her tee shot on 18 at .5 and .25 speed it is clear that she never crossed in bounds. There still would have been potential to par from a re-tee, but that missplay puts a huge asterisk on this victory.

Tainted victory to say at least. Disc golf needs to be more professional. 2 friendly teammates from Discraft (and a teenager, of course silent is this kind of situation) are not great judges...

Hope Holyn never wins again, to pay for this cheated win. I know its mean, but its what I legit feel. We all know playing with these kinds of people. DiscGolf is worse off for Holyn winning. Such a regrettable thing to have to say.😢

Watching FPO sometimes creates the impression that the hardest shot in DG is a circle one putt. If one can putt from 6-9 meters and is able to maintain consistency elsewhere, they are superstars.
@doomcat537 Жыл бұрын
I'm guessing your game is much better? Lol
@kingchuckfinley Жыл бұрын
@@doomcat537no you don’t understand. K.squared is the best. k.squared would win worlds if he even cared at all about that. k.squared is the new Ken Climo. Paul McBeth who? Nah but for real, sometimes I think “I could have made that shot” but then I remember, nah, I can’t. FPO would wipe the floor with me.

@@davidperezbabich How does my remark indicate sexism? I was referring to immaturity of the sport that results in a low level of competition. Sure, the personal attacks indicate misunderstanding, which is nothing new online, but if comment was sexist, I will delete this thread immediately.

@@k.squared hmm, maybe it's not sexist now that I think of it. But it seems a little mean and un-necessary to criticize top touring professionals in any sport or gender. And if you are making fun of women for being worse putters than the best men in the world, then... I don't know...seems....like a cheap shot. Just my opinion. Thanks.

Can someone help me understand why Evelina still flubs so many short putts? I remember it was an embarrassing issue before but I thought by now she would at least have a consistent spin putt dialed in. How can she still be so good at everything else with such a glaring weakness in her game? Doesn't she have a trainer/coach working with her? I mean it is the most basic part of playing 18. I would hope that at least another pro would just talk to her and give her some pointers and work with her. It is not a good look for her but also pro disc golf in general. It would be like a basketball player not being able to do a layup. Or a baseball player not being able to catch a groundball. Just one of those basic things that should not be happening so regularly IMO and she sure deserves to figure it out.
@stedibear Жыл бұрын
"How can she still be so good at everything else with such a glaring weakness in her game?" wdym? Being bad at putting doesn't mean she has to be bad at everything else. Or am I not understanding your question? "Doesn't she have a trainer/coach working with her?" Pretty sure they all do. Wouldn't assume otherwise. "I would hope that at least another pro would just talk to her and give her some pointers and work with her." Wasn't it only last year that Paul McBeth was seen helping her mid-tournament and it was a big story for a couple of days? I'm pretty sure he's not the first or last to do so, and I'm quite sure you knew about that too. But I digress. Eveliina still quite young, and she clearly can't handle the pressure. And no, I don't mean her technique doesn't need work, quite the opposite it's very jerky and nervous every time. I'm probably projecting, but it looks like sometimes she must be thinking "oh man it would be really awkward to miss this in front of all these people" in the middle of her putt. That being said, she's improved her putting A LOT over the last two years and we should give credit when it's due. The good thing is that if she just sticks at the game and keeps playing (despite all the negativity she receives for her putt), give her 2 more years of pro tour pressure experience and she's still only gonna be 26. That's plenty of time to figure out how to focus through the nerves. In fact, she can play the game for another 20 years at the top. That's my take anyway.
@carl33p Жыл бұрын
Putting is tough, then do it at the highest level tournaments, on lead card, and on live and Jomez coverage. Not sure if you've played tournaments, but it can completely change your results. Also, keep in mind that many of the FPO haven't been playing disc golf their whole life or been pro longer than a few years. FPO needs time to mature. Holyn Handley PDGA # started 4 years ago.
