I have that exact bike. Bought it last summer - I has ordered a Gen 3 and they shipped me a Gen 4 at the Gen 3 price. Nice - only issue is they didn’t have the brown sidewall tires but NBD. Great overview of the bike. One issue I had is that the bike creaked like crazy. It was the isospeed. Trek replaced a part and completely solved the problem. Overall I like the bike a lot.

I bought this exact bike a couple months ago. This was my first Trek. I was really enjoying it; great handling, very comfortable and a real looker! However, after about 10 miles of riding a creaking sound started coming from the seat post area. I contacted the dealer and took the bike back in. After about two hours of trying to figure it out the dealer told me there was a bulletin from Trek regarding this problem! The dealer could not fix it, because he didn't have the part. Apparently there's a bolt that needed replaced around the ISO speed decoupler. Fortunately for me the dealer had a ten day return policy and that's the route I took. I had heard from a few other customers via the internet, that this has been a problem for awhile. One would think that by the fourth generation of the Domane; Trek would have ironed this problem out along time ago! This has totally turned me off on Trek. I will be sticking with Specialized. Haven't ever had an issue with any of there bikes in over twenty years. Thanks for sharing.

I went through the exact same nonsense. I'm just gonna get an Emonda . No Isospeed.

I had the exact same issue. Trek fixed it by replacing the part. Took a few days.

I hope it doesn't come back. My biggest issue is that this is the fourth generation of the Domane and Trek is still having issues with it! Best of luck @@PDM1967

how is the Gen 4 compared to a Gen 3 Domane? My LBS has a sweet deal on a SL6 Gen 3 but the SL5 Gen 4 is nice looking.

this is not the stock stem though . looks more like the sl6 one. love the tan finish.

That is the stock stem. Looks like the handlebars that you'll see that the more uber-expensive Madon's and other upper-level bikes, but is not one piece. You can see what I mean at 21:52

Change out the wheel set and tires right away, will give you .5+ average mph

I don't believe that you rode the bike. I think that claim is just part of your sales pitch. If you really put some road miles on it then I want it for a demo price!

Don’t buy this Domane. It is know for rear isospeed failures which cause creaking and even worse slipping seatpost. There are complaints about it everywhere including many reviews by owners on Treks own web site. One estimate is 60% of Domanes have this failure. Trek has a replacement part but it hasn’t fixed the issue for many people.

Fixed it before they selling them for customers? I just ordered the 2023 mod.

@@davidroter5580 i got the domane 6 gen 4 2024, got the same problem. But i tighten it more, got some sounds still, but not so bad now.

Thid is the best road bike frsme that i can imagine. It suits all my needs perfectly. Additional few hundred grams of weight is not a big price for that.
