Brutal with the hooks. Try trailing single hook, barbless. As a good fisherman, you'll rarely ever lose one to a single hook, and they are so easy to release. Less fish will be hacked up to live another day.

I saw 3 and caught 1. They are a lot of work but they are there. I'll admit I think Georgian Bay is a better place to hunt them.

@TheGrumpyFisherman We've been going for 20 yrs. Every year gets a little worse. Going to try point au baril next year. I will miss that view as you leave the "river" and enter Nippissing. It's pretty spectacular.
