Thanks for this amazing video! We never get to see anything like this so it is rare but much needed for viewers to see the perspective of another pro’s player analysis

Thank you for this. As per one of the other comments, it's extremely rare to have a shot by shot commentary. Gives us a invaluable insight as to what is going through the player's head in terms of strategy and shot selections. I wished more commentators would comment on players' strategy during a match. Rather than running off irrelevant statistics or stating the obvious; which can be distracting during the actual match. So thank you for this.

Hey Howard, I have crazy respect for you. Winning Men's nationals without a coach is amazing. Wish you the best of luck in the future!

Thank you for the support! Definitely not ideal to not have a coach, but I am in the latter part of my badminton career now and now it's more a matter of being physically able to execute my plan and strategy 😅

Great to see you come back for the win! You mentioned the term "opening up the court" and "stretching the court" in another video just wondering what they mean and if they mean the same thing? I'm still fairly new to badminton so I love to hear these terms which are new to me

Thanks for the analysis Howard, what a great way to end off your last US Nationals :) I was wondering why you ended up retiring your doubles finals? Was it due to the fatigue from playing two events?
@howeezy10 ай бұрын
Thank you! Yes, I was dealing with some small injuries with my ankles and playing 10 matches in 3 days definitely did not help. Better safe than sorry, I will prepare for the remaining 4 months of Olympic Qualifying! 😄

Thank you! I do have the Arc 11 Pro as well but somehow the original Arc 11 feels like it is part of my arm already haha. After playing it for almost 10 years, I feeling is just dialed in with the original Arc 11.

Great game and analysis. Who’s that the umpire btw? Definitely not with her decisions in the match... seems Asuncion got some points off.

I'm surprised his coach Kennie Asuncion, former pro hasn't corrected his backhand. What are your plans after winning the nationals?
@howeezy10 ай бұрын
It's actually a unique skill that he has to be able to take them overhead instead of turning for a backhand. I think it's what makes him a difficult player to play. Im taking a few weeks off at home before I will resume Olympic Qualifications tournaments. My next will be Thailand 300!

Brilliant tactics. I should too start listening to other coach as I often don’t have a coach. So not having a coach is a plus as long as you understand their language 😅 or I could use the google translator 😂

To call Enrico Keoni Asuncion rough around the edges is a complimentary to him. Man, the footwork is super disorganized. The Hulk smash mentality. What a mess.
@howeezy8 ай бұрын
I would say it's an unorthodox singles style which actually makes him quite difficult to play at first until you are dialed into his timings and speed. But I've seen his game develop over the last couple years and he's definitely making great strides of improvement to a more stable singles style 😊
