The number of times where I've said to myself, "Aim at the tree. You're not good enough to hit a 6-inch target." Well, when it creates a double bogey, Yes, I am.

The only time I do that is if I'm throwing something flippy enough to where I know it will turn before it gets to the tree
These are genuinely the best practice round videos out there, and some of my favorite videos you put out. I love how you break down each hole and allower the viewer to get insight into your thought process when playing a course. The comfortable banter between the two of you makes for an even more enjoyable watch. I appreciate you two for doing these!

Just want to say that it's awesome to see your health improve. I have a similar build to you in height and body comp - I had ballooned up to 330 lbs due to my mentals and now I am at 260. It's nice to get needed /extra motivation to see you drop down to my goal weight from what I currently weigh now. Love the content and keep staying healthy! Thanks!

Same. Ballooned to 290 during covid. Intermittent fasting and steady at the gym has taken 18 of the 50 I need to get back into that normal bmi.

@@seanstreck3226 Really happy to hear that both of you guys are pushing yourselves and making great progress. Just wanted to chime in with one thing and say that bmi is an outdated scale that is essentially useless and not something you should really pay attention to. Especially for those who lift weights regularly and have a relatively moderate muscle mass it will be incredibly innacurate in predicting whether or not you are actually overweight! Good luck with your weight loss and health journey and keep pushing for improvement!

Hole 10 (MPO hole 4) is tricky but probably one of my favorite holes. I've had the most success with a forehand turnover with a zone off the tee. That little more foreword progress gives you a better angle to the basket. Keep up the great work with the practice rounds and good luck this week!

Last hole I'm standing towards the right of the pad in the dirt. My steps will be towards the left front corner of the pad. I'll throw a low slight anhyzer forehand towards the trees on left with hopes of it fading out right. The key 2 throwing in the woods is finding the right location on the pad 2 release from so you open the gap up more.

Brodie, a couple years ago, ON THIS SAME COURSE, you were being taught how to play disc golf by Paul McBeth, one of the greatest disc golfers of all time. You asked him this exact same question about aiming at the tree and “hope to miss it”. Paul shut that way of thinking down. He told you, you can aim at the tree knowing the disc will flip and miss the tree or fade before the tree, but you never throw a shot and “hope” to miss your line.

Zone OS is one of those discs you think you'll like but you'll never ever find yourself in a situation that calls for it. I couldn't fathom needing a more overstable zone but I also don't have 190mph arm speed so my perception of such things is gonna be different.

I thought that about the tilt, bought 2 anyway. 1 to keep and 1 to test out. It’s been in my bag forever now because it’s a game changer in the wind. I’m gonna get one of these because I LOVE the zone but I’m in Oklahoma and sometimes you’re throwing into 20-30mph headwind and my zones just will not fade. Same reason I have a cap rap and a regular raptor in my bag, wind. It’s crazy here.
@bhamm80 Жыл бұрын
i'll be honest... this course is basically something you go into just knowing where the OB's are, knowing the shape of the holes and you just plain ol play. overthinking here is what, IMO, gets you into those bad situations. you know what your discs do. grab it and just play. best of luck guys!!

I unironically prefer the filming more on these practice rounds than tradition disc golf coverage. Being able to see the shot from behind from start to finish. Jomez should learn that the catch cam should only be put to use if the disc cuts a corner.

Aiming - Tree or Gap? I aim for an imaginary target wherever on the gap I'm aiming to hit. I split the gap into 9 equal blocks for more precise aiming, but one should always consider what angle they want their disc to be at when they hit the imaginary target...
@pmac7641 Жыл бұрын
Never aim for the tree. If you hit it, you had a great shot with a bad result. If you miss it, it reinforces that you aren't good enough to hit your target, which is why you chose that option in the first place. Believe in yourself, go for the gap, go for the glory.

To add to the "aim-at-the-tree discussion", training pilots you don't tell them "don't hit the mountain, because then our brain will focus on that and the body will follow and boom goes the plane (in the simulation) or BOINK the disc in the tree. The gap is most often larger than the tree anyway so the best target BUT a focusing point for the eye is important, so pick a tree far beyond in the center of the gap perhaps? Just my five cents.
