I definitely agree that this year was fantastic for Optimus Prime! All of his toys were smash hits, Armada and Gamer being favorites of mine. His portrayal in Earthspark is one of my favorites, emhodying that classic G1 prime (my fave alognside Animated and Rescue Bots) with his more jovial nature and being a respectful leader. (Optimus said enby rigjts yay!) And the Skybound character is phenomenal, feeling like the old and kind Prime we all love. And it is great to see Peter Cullen be amazingly rewarded for his impact to the world with the Lifetime Achievement award! Cullen, Chalk, Kaplan, Kaye, Foushee, Tudyk and all of the Optimus Primes truly got The Touch!

Both by being in Fortnite (Which I sadly missed) and by finding my old 2007 leader figure, which is still one of my favorite ones to just mess with to this day 16 years after getting mine

Rise of the Beasts found a happy medium between Optimus’s Bayverse bloodlust and the cowboy dad we expected Bumblebee OP to be while giving him a character arc that helped justify why he cared for humanity. Skybound nailed the Sunbow Optimus characterization and brought it into the modern day. I could never hear IDW Optimus with Peter Cullen’s voice. But this guy? He sounds wonderful even though this is a comic. EarthSpark brought back the personable side of Optimus that had been missing since 2009 (dear Primus I hate what Prime, Cyberverse and Netflix WFC did to him). The Armada, Animated, High Moon and Reactivate Optimii all got faithful updates/first toys. And Peter Cullen himself earned a Lifetime Achievement Award for his voice acting career as a whole, given to him by his dear friend Frank Welker. 2023 wasn’t just the best year for the franchise in a while. It’s perhaps the best year Optimus has had since 1988.

2024 will likely be The Year of Optimus Prime as well. On top of the Leagcy Animated Optimus Prime, we are getting: Missing Link G1 Optimus Prime Legacy United Deluxe Optimus Prime Target Leader Optimus Prime GI-Joe crossover Optimus Prime A re-run of SS102 Optimus And last but of course not least.. SS86 Commander Class Optimus Prime (Very likely will be one of the big favs for Figure of the Year if not Figure of the Decade)

I was honestly thinking the same thing, that 2023 was great for Optimus. I mean, with toys alone, we got some of his best figures, but I love how much of a dad he is in Earths[ark, it hearkens back to G1 Prime who was allowed to be goofy. The Skybound comics have been great too, and really reinvigorated my love for the franchise. After so many years emphasising Bumblebee, it felt nice to get a good year of Optimus.

I recently encountered someone who fought tooth and nail to prove that Optimus Prime supports slavery and is actually a villain. Bro wouldn't quit even when I was able to disprove these claims with evidence from TV shows, comics, and novels. No one could believe why he'd try so hard to try and prove that Optimus isn't a great hero and an amazing character.

I believe it. It's a new level, but I believe it. When I was on Transformers newsgroups there were people trying to prove the Decepticons were the real heroes. (They weren't bad people, mind you. One of the popular was a great dude who even helped me get a Blockbuster exclusive home video that wasn't showing up in my area.) Then every election year some putz had to come with whether the Autobots or Decepticons would be Republicans or Democrats as a faction. (Autobots would be split between Republican or Democrat while the Decepticons are either tyrants or anarchists and I'm not sure how those groups got along except that they actually didn't and Megatron just needed them to boost his troop count.) Optimus being pro-slavery? What was their "evidence"?

I even made the points you made in that the Decepticons were oppressed and weren't bad people original and rose up against the government, but Megatron lost it when Orion was made Prime instead of Megs.

@@ShadowWingTronix Yeah, In Transformers Exodus which is part of a trilogy of novels set before Transformers Prime and have a lot of the same plot as the High Moon games but with slight changes. All he talked about was how Jazz hung out at a gladiator match and how Orion Pax was Megatron's friend. And Jazz did this while Prime was still Orion so he was definitely against it but He was working with Megatron to help the gladiators become equal members of Cybertron. Orion was also for standing up against the oppressive government but didn't want to rule Cybertron with an iron fist. Bro's claim made no sense.

I have that RotB Optimus Prime. The one I've had a hard time finding anywhere is Primal. In the 2007 movie Optimus wasn't even on Earth for most of the movie. He only shows up at the end.

​@@TJOmega No I mean the 2007 movie. It was focused on Bumblebee and Sam for the majority of the movie. Optimus and the other Autobots don't show up till just before the climax at the Hoover Dam. He's in all the movies but the whole showing up at the last minute just in time for the climax thing has always been a part of the live action films.
