20230119 Suburban Fluid Changes

Here's a video of me being a grumpy old Gen X'er. I'm getting over strep throat. I'm busy at work and home. I'm supposed to be getting ready for the one day of Winter 4x4 Jamboree I can go wheel. So here I am in the cold doing stuff I thought woulda been handled already. Oh, well. Sometimes you're the statue sometimes you're the pigeon.

I think I saw your 4x4 button on the dash in a different video. Rule of thumb for those cases. Manual Lever = NP241 "3 Button" = NP243 (same as 241 but with an electric shift motor) "4 Button" = NP246 (These take that special blueberry fluid) Same goes for the S10/Blazer cases (231, 233, 236).

Mine is an NP246, which I would call a soccer mom T-case. No idea why they thought that should go on a 3/4 ton truck. Stupid engineers. A 1/2 ton that will ride on 32” tires is about the limit of that “Auto 4WD” system. It’s one thing on the list to address yet.

What sucks is these are supposedly competent people. Well, the designer of my Solid Axle Swap kit overlooked a LOT of details, so I won't go into that. When I took the dive into serious modification of the truck, I guess that's what I signed up for.
