20230803 FMS Rafale 64 6S Upgrade with Afterburner

If installing without LED on back of motor, you can simply remove a bit of foam as needed to get unit to sit down where it needs to. I have also used E6000 glue strategically placed to hold Fan housing in place. It doesn't take much and it held the EDF in place fine without screws. Only thing is it will tear out some foam if you have to remove the unit down the road.

I know what you mean, lots of times I will do the same just to test something then refine or clean it up after I know it basically performs as desired or thereabouts.

This model is Underpowered So good idea to change the 4s turbine to a 6s 64mm turbine The next step is to be able to put a 6s battery Enough room or not?6s 4000 ma 1:13 ybe?or less capacity?Thank you for your advices

Hello, yes I much prefer it's performance overall with 6s EDF system. I run with 6 cell SMC 2800 or 2400mAh weighing 324 & 378 grams, respectively.

The result at maximum thrust is 64 a I use a cnhl 2.7 a 6s I will try a 70 a esc Will be better with 80 a

@@tigreeurocopter1966 I got the 64mm 6s EDF package at motionrc and it specifies 60amp esc for it.

Curious to what your thurst figures are and if you have any idea of top speed? I fly all my 64mm 4s on 5s. Just swap the esc out for a 80A and use stock motor. I go from about 1.1kg of thrust to about 1.6kg. Flights are much more fun now

I measured it once but cant recall max thrust. I will do it again and reply. Thats great to know about 5s setup, will definitely try it sometime! The top speed I have seen is about 90mph.

​@AerialRCFun the only 64mm 5s plane I done gps on was the Freewing L15 and that was at 115mph. I'll see if I can get my F16 top speed done.
