The training is about to make a decision. Will the Cessna 414AW be the aircraft for the big simulation training called Deutschlandflug project?
I have the feeling that this aircraft is the miracle mix of everything that was available for the Laminar and Microsoft simulators.
Visuals, animation, beautiful sound experience and the mega combination of old school analogue instruments and modern Garmin glass cockpit equipment with even passenger and baggage simulation options are all there.
One thing to clarify, I want the pilot to be visible in the aircraft, which requires some programming on my part. Also, how about giving the pilot my face?
There are already more than a hundred add-ons installed into the simulator for flying around Germany, starting in the north at Bremen International Airport.
As always, there are already a few stories to tell about this project. Frank told me some time ago about the reopening of an aviation museum on the Shannon River in Ireland, on the other side of the big river when coming from Shannon Airport.
While looking for a nice livery for this aircraft, I came across this orange-coloured plane from Ireland and did some research.
This aircraft actually belonged to Ireland's first commercial airline Iona and the company was featured in a book and a documentary film, both of which are still available.
The best price for the book was offered by this famous aviation museum and it is now on its way to be delivered to Germany.
Things are moving more and more in the direction of an aviation adventure...
