Comment from a longtime NFHS official from the Imperial Valley of California. NOTE @ 2:52 in the video: blowing the whistle by the referee stops ALL possible scoring action(s) and thus he was incorrect in saying that because the man gained control AFTER the whistle had blown a three pt takedown should be awarded. You can NOT gain control after the whistle has blown. It can be simultaneous but NOT after the fact. If the official sees action going towards a table "a potentially dangerous situation" he/she may say in a clear voice "Center". Rule 7-2-2-h supports officials verbally talking to both wrestlers as it states: "The referee shall verbally caution contestants against forcing potentially dangerous hold/maneuvers into illegal positions without interrupting action, unless it is necessary to stop the hold/maneuver in order to prevent injury." Great video. Just you can't gain control after you stop the match. Safe Travels to All!
