Would you recommend the paddack access to a normal fan? I'm looking to take my Dad to Le Mans next year as a bucket-list trip, but the paddock tickets are priced considerably higher. Does it give you a significantly better experience and are able to get closer to the cars/run into drivers?

So, unfortunately I wasn't able to get Paddock access for the day of the race, but given the substantial premium they place on the tickets, and the fact that all major car work is done in garages attached directly to pit lane, I'd say it's probably not worth it. Other WEC races do have open-access paddocks, as do all of the IMSA races, so if you're US based one of those may be a better option for vehicle/driver interactions.

@@lenslr Thanks, this is great feedback. Was paddock access during free practice cheaper/free? Did you run into any drivers?
@lenslr Жыл бұрын
@@lukejo it was open during free practice, but no, didn't run into any drivers. Much better luck with that in the IMSA Paddock - have had very pleasant interactions with most of the Corvette crew, few of the BMW drivers, Ben Keating, and a motley of the WEC folks that occasionally guest drive or did SuperSebring

Since as you say Alpine is indeed said as Alpeen, then surely Peugeot is not Pew-sho but Purr-sho.

Joys of picking up manufacturer names from varied and differing sources, I'm afraid. Decided inconsistencies in pronounciations. Had the same difficulties with normal words as a kid - read too much and had no idea how to pronounce things like cathedral or omnipotent.

Haha, yep, pretty much. Sounds spectacular though. Personal opinion, the best sounding vehicles on track are all of the GM-branded ones plus the Vanwall.

@@fqeagles21 If they were about half an octave lower in tone, I would agree. Loved the old early-mid 2010s RSR but the new one is just a touch too screamy for my liking. Needs less exhaust, more engine note
