Abilene Morthland, a unifying force, uplifts her peers and extends her impact beyond herself. As part of the Randall Research Scholars Program at The University of Alabama’s Honors College, she leverages her privileges to empower marginalized communities. Her leadership within RRSP includes mental health initiatives and a program-wide newsletter, fostering connections with alumni. Additionally, as Chief Justice in the Student Government Association, she trains others in compassionate, fair adjudication. Abilene’s diverse pursuits, from double majors in Spanish and philosophy to contributing artwork sales for nonprofit donations, fortify her commitment to human rights advocacy.
