I hope the devs take zero advice from COD console players, as the complexity of Arma Reforger is what makes it so good. It isn’t a ‘jump on for 20 minutes and run around & kill’ kind of game, so if that’s what they are looking for they’ve picked the wrong game. It’s a complexed, tactical war game where communication and team play is imperative. I’m a console player myself, so this is my first foray into the world of Arma having previously been a HLL veteran. 12 months ago the game was very frustrating, with server crashes almost every 10 minutes or so, but nowadays it is much more stable. The aesthetics of the game are incredible and the modded games take it to a whole new level. Also what makes the game so good is the community that play it. The PC players obviously have an advantage and more experience with the Arma mechanics, but there is no divide or snobbery when playing with console players. I have always found many players that are all too willing to help newbies that want to learn more about the game. It’s a world away from the toxic COD community. I’m hooked!

Awesome game love playing in the Modded Community's PvE where the Mod creators have made it a great place to play with friend's along with many improvements to the Map,Guns,Uniforms & general Military Kit! 💯recommend

They are going to take the *Apple* approach again. Past ArmA games (A2/OA) included lengthy detailed campaigns, tons of content, etc with the base game then added onto it with future expansions - each worth every cent. ArmA 3, and likely 4, removed most content from the base game then locked it behind a paywall called "DLC".

Noooooooo to map markers, learn to map read, use key scenery objects to work out where you are, Example signal hill, large antenna is roughly dead centre of the Arland map trust me its much more immersive. Lighhouse, towns, airfields, follw power cables into towns its true military simulation.

It took me a while to get used to it as I hadn’t had to use a map and compass in decades, but once you get your eye in, it can be quite rewarding. B roads, dirt tracks and power cables are the key features that I tend to use as they are everywhere.

This game never left Early-Access. Reminds me of when they slapped a "Beta" label on DayZ and ArmA 3's rocky launch. Don't bother joining the Steam community discussions either, you will be targetted by the developer moderation (Nillers, etc.) eventually.

I know it's running on a proper version of Enfiusion etc, but the lighting, shadows, character models animations and textures all look worse than DayZ ! Plus it is the smegging Malden map from Operation Flashpoint in 1999 with all the same old building assets (albeit with interiors now). I don't think Bohemia have made new building assets for almost 20 years ! I'll bet you that the 'new' apartments on Sakhal are taken from either Reforger or Arma 4 too !

I think its just because its a Arma title. They will use the engine to make Dayz 2 and make it more gritty looking and smoother animations like they did on the standalone. But MANY years away unfortunately.

I agree with animations, seem too stiff and they don’t move tactically like soldiers would.

Agreed. The character shading looks awful. They look like plastic action figures rather than real looking soilders. Faces looked much better in ArmA 3 and alpha DayZ stand-alone.

@@YU_Games_YUGs Don’t take on the AI at night in a vanilla server. You have no NVG and they have the eyes of a barn owl! You will be worm food before you’ve even seen them!

Yes still crashing. Hit reg is terrible. For army sim the hit register is ... Lack of servers. Cheaters and so on... i dont recommend buying game. The basic game sucks. Everybody plays modded servers. That ones got admins that are doing what they want.
