Oh Sanguk 오상욱 is one of the most accomplished fencers of the current circuit. Having been in the top 5 of the FIE World Rankings from 2018 to 2022, Oh Sanguk 오상욱 has been individual World Number 1, individual World Champion, Asian Champion, Asian Games Champion, 4 times World Cup winner, 5 times Grand Prix winner, and Olympic Team Gold Medalist.
Since the season of 2022/2023 Oh Sanguk 오상욱 has been off his usual insane form, having to miss several events due to injuries, but he is still ranked FIE rank 9 going into this competition.
On the Left - Shen Chenpeng of China
Shen is quite young. At the age of 22, he is ranked FIE rank 52. He has never won an senior world medal before this event. Shen qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games through the Asia Oceana Zonal Tournament.
