Do you have a questions about the Atomic Hawx Ultra Boa boots?

Great review! You seem like a perfect gent to ask this question; I am switching from Fischers to Atomics...as the Atomics are so comfortable(in store). How does the Flex of Atomics compare to Fischer or Salomon? What flex should I be on at 170lbs male, 40+ days a year for 40+ years. I ski aggressive, but i dont like a very rigid boot that beats me up in bumps, ice or landing jumps, i like a boot that will absorb some of the shock and allow some flexing over rough terrain as i almost never ski clean piste, so i can keep going all day, but I still want reasonable control at speed. Really hoping for your input, thanks!

@@Surf_Salt which Fischer would you be comparing them to?

Currently Fischer 110 RCpro. Have skied Salomon spro120 recently which had a weird flex that didnt rebound at all and felt too upright and soft laterally. Its too easy to flex but then stops completely before I can get my knee over my toes. Because I ski the entire mountain, 40-80kmhr, trees, drops, moguls, powder, park jumps. I vary my turns based on the snow and bumps, i'll ski super tight old school tight ankle turns in bumpy off piste, and then hit a smooth area and open up and carve a few turns then dip into the park and hit a med or large and then ski into the trees and pop off side hits. I like to continually change style based on the terrain and conditions 😂. I find some 130s feel like 110s and I have a 120 that crazy stiff.(too stiff) to be comfortable based on the lines I take. Just wondering what you think would be appropriate and how Atomic boots flex rating compares to Fischer

@@Surf_Salt I have not skid the Fischer RC Pro but talking with one of our boot fitters Softer, but the Atomic might feel it the same or stiffer depending on how each of them fits your foot/leg. I find the Atomic soft but I am us to a very stiff race boot, it is very comfortable and warm, I can do almost everything in it I just do not feel as planted when carving hard. Hope that helps.

How does the flex compare to the Hawx 130 non-touring model? How do you like them for touring?
@jamesb125-i7yАй бұрын
Great review thanks! I have the normal Hawx Ultra 120s from 2016. They are too soft for me but would you advise going up to the 130 or sticking with the 120 with the new materials? Thanks!

If your a good skier James I would knock it up to the 130 as it is not supper stiff.

Hey, thanks for the review, re flex, I only ski soft snow, mellow tearrain (going for the forecast), and Iv got soft skis (armada jj), do you think 130 is going to be too stiff, 110 way to go? I dont do carving on hard snow or cliff dropps etc
@SnowCampsEurope11 ай бұрын
Hi @ocehb The, 130 flex is not so stiff I think the 110 would be very soft. Try the 130 in the shop and you will feel the flex it should not change when it gets cold as the plastic is not supposed to react to the change in temperature.

Ff with these. Does it work good in downhill? Does the hybrid design of the boot affect the downhill skiing? Is it too heavy on uphill ?

Does it work good in downhill? answered in the video Does the hybrid design of the boot affect the downhill skiing? Also answered in the video! Is it too heavy on uphill ? It is heavier than our touring boots but we are yet to test it on a tour. Also mentioned in the video.

My last ultra 110 had a problema with watter leaking inside the boot, so i had to take out the linner every night to dry, did you noticed that?
@SnowCampsEurope10 ай бұрын
I have not had that issue even in the wet spring-like snow we have at the moment. I do put DrySure dryers in there every night to make sure they are dry for the next day but I do that with all boots.

Are you using your toes and shins to weight the shovel to get your skis up on edge? How are these boots for skiing in the trees or steep or chutes?
@SnowCampsEurope10 ай бұрын
Hi if your question is am I getting pressure into the tip of the ski to get early engagement of the tip in the snow then yes at times when needed. As for how are the boot in trees or steeps I would say thats more about your skiing rather than the boots.
