Andy thanks for the review, ideally you would need to be able to import either OS Maps or Talky Toaster, the other benefit of Garmin is if you are using an InReach the Garmin watch can also connect, these are big advantages for the same price. Battery life is on a par with Garmin

I recently purchased my first GPS watch and this was definitely a strong contender. However I am somewhat tight so I eventually went for the Suunto Race S which I got new for £300. Battery life is only ok but I really like everything else.

Thanks for the review Andy. What is the process for downloading routes? I use OS Maps , so looking for a watch which will easily download routes created in OS maps. Also . what is the display like when viewing a route?

Thank you for the info, Andy. Unfortunately, I told the wife I will have the epic 2 for Christmas and I think she's already got it. Not really a Garmin fan, but there we are. Didn't fancy the Apple Watch with just a touchscreen without going to the very expensive sort and battery life is key. This would be my first smart watch.

I prefer Garmin for outdoor adventures, because Garmin have maps/navigation features no another brand have. But dont get me wrong...this vertix is a very good watch fir outdoors adventures.

I would love to get one of these watches but my problem as to do with the tip of outdoor activities i do, this watch is amazing for hiking but it would be perfect if it was possible to get a fishing activity with tides and wind and all the things you need as fishermen.

T-rex 3 at less than half the price and with an Amoled screen will meet the use cases of quite a few though...
