Maybe I don’t get it, but it seems to me you could put Holiday at second Westburg at third Henderson at shore, and that would be an awfully good infield and if you wanted to put mayo at first, that might work out real well too

There's a lot of options on how to configure the infield, yeah. I'd honestly do it the way you mentioned, just to let Holliday adjust to the bigs before throwing him in the deep end.

​@@LockedOnMLBProspectsJackson has passed every test thrown his way so far.He has been exposed to the MLB atmosphere his whole life. His father's presence has obviously had a huge impact and nothing seems to overwhelm him. This obviously has had a huge impact.I am certain you are aware of this, so what I am saying is nothing new. The media definitely has a way of over hipping young prospects. I guess there excitement gets the best of them. All this being said I believe Jackson will adjust. Not many players hit the ground running even the great ones struggle at some point. He's going to be a good one.

If Basallo pans out as the fourth number one prospect in a row for the Orioles next year, then I can possibly see a fifth in a row for 2025. I'm not saying it will happen, but if the O's can figure out a way to unlock Enrique Bradfield's hit tool to go along with his elite baserunning and fielding, then it could happen.

Left field in Baltimore is a bit less power dependent because of how much ground there is to cover with the wall they moved back out there. I have a feeling the speedier guys playing right in the minors might end up in left at the majors.

"Corner outfielder" does not translate to Camden Canyon. Left fielders in OPACY have to be able to go get it.

I feel this is a big reason they went out to make sure to keep Hays locked in. He is CF capable, playing Left, with a cannon of an arm. Who ever has to play left in Camden will not only have to be speedy, but have a strong throwing arm. You will essentially have 2 CF's playing at Camden going forward I feel.

Why do people ignore the fact that Mayo isnt a good defender? Guys, he's a DH. THATS FINE! DH is a position. Maybe he'll eventually be at 1B if they let Mountcastle walk but he's a DH

I think the ideal (initial) defense construct (once they are all up) is: Holliday at 2B, Henderson at SS, Westburg at 3B and Mayo with reps at both 3B and RF. He's going to play right a lot this year at AAA and that arm is wasted at 1B. We've seen that Elias/Hyde love flexible lineups and that will continue. Also: it's Kerr sted, not Keer Stad

The orioles have 3 3B in GH, JW, and Urias 3 SS in GH, Mateo, and JH 2 2B in JW and JH Jackson will be playing predominantly at 2B as long as Mateo and Urias are on this roster

Urias can play any infield position. If they hit they play if they don't get someone in there who can.

@@OsFanB94if I’m not mistaken, he did put in some time at 1st and 2nd last year. But I digress.. Urias has a really nice glove at 3rd. Henderson actually makes me a little nervous at SS and 3B. Just me though. Mateo and Urias had that side locked down.

@@OsFanB94 I never said they are going to play him at second. I said he can play all in field positions and plays them all adequately. BTW he was in the past tense a gold glove third baseman. Last time I checked he won the Gold Glove in 22 not 23.

@@BrianJones-cu2sx Henderson hit's. No need to be nervous about Henderson's glove at third. I don't see Urias and Mateo lasting a full season with the club. More than likely both of them will start the season. Holliday most likely start out in triple A. There's a certain date that allows a team not to lose a year of team control. I suspect you will see Holliday called up after that date. When that happens either Mateo or Urias goes. The only thing that will save them s roster spot is an injury to a player or if someone such as Westburg happens to be struggling offensively. Urias and Mateo certainly would be picked up if they were DFA. I wouldn't be surprised if either of them were tried to get moved, however other teams know this and realize they can possibly get them for nothing.

Both of those things aren't true. lol. McDermott had a horrible 2022 before figuring it out in 2023. His ERA was a full 2 runs lower. He's also not really a top prospect. He's ranked 9th or 10th in the O's system and he's not a top 100 prospect.

@@brandondillman5841 He was unranked in the Astros system, and after being traded he’s still walking almost 6 batters per nine. If you think he’s suddenly going to keep a 3.5 ERA with those numbers then I have some beach front property in Arizona to sell you.
