Your video made me realize how much better looking this gen of 5er would look if the top of the headlights was straighter and led directly into the character line instead of having that upturn swing toward the corner that has the top of the headlights leading into the shut line of the hood. ****For those who don't know, the character line is the crease below the side window belt line and just above the door handles and runs from the top of the front wheels all the way to the taillights.**** All 5ers used to be like that until the E60 gen (that Chris Bangle designed) introduced the upturn swing. Even then, Bangle designed his headlight swing in such a way that it still introduced the character line while simultaneously riding the shut line of the hood. The designers of this new model clearly didn't bother with that attentiveness to detail.

I think it may have been intentional TBH. I think they wanted to give it more of a mean, frowning face. Yes it would appear more natural flowing from headlight to character line but the result would certainly be less masculine. I feel that BMWs current design language is very masculine, frowny, boxy, etc.
