Dynamically stretched proportions and generously designed surfaces characterize the exterior of the new BMW 5 Series Touring. Compared to the previous model, it has grown in length by 97 millimeters to 5,060 millimeters, in width by 32 millimeters to 1,900 millimeters and in height by 17 millimeters to 1,515 millimeters. With a 20 millimeter increase to 2,995 millimeters, the new BMW 5 Series Touring has the longest wheelbase in its competitive environment.
The range of exterior colors already includes three BMW Individual paint finishes at market launch. The standard equipment includes light-alloy wheels in sizes 18 inches and 19 inches for the fully electric and plug-in hybrid models. Light-alloy wheels up to 21 inches are available as an option. The M Sport Package, M Sport Package Pro and M Carbon Exterior Package options further emphasize the dynamic character of the new BMW 5 Series Touring. As the top model in the series, the BMW i5 M60 xDrive Touring (combined power consumption: 20.8 - 18.3 kWh/100 km according to WLTP) comes with exterior components as standard that clearly express its outstanding driving dynamics.
Progressively designed cockpit, completely vegan interior.
The BMW Curved Display is at the heart of the progressive, driver-oriented cockpit design. Its 12.3-inch Information Display and the Control Display with a screen diagonal of 14.9 inches form a fully digital display network. The new standard sports seats, the steering wheel now flattened at the bottom and the optional BMW Interaction Bar also contribute to the modern premium ambience in the interior.
The new BMW 5 Series Touring comes with a completely vegan interior as standard. The seat surfaces in the Veganza version are also optionally available with decorative perforation. BMW Individual Merino leather upholstery is also available in several bicolor variants. Other optional highlights include a fixed panoramic glass roof and the Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound System with up to 18 speakers.

The new BMW 5 Series Touring offers more space and, particularly in the rear, a noticeable increase in leg, shoulder and elbow room as well as optimized acoustic comfort. With its versatile interior and numerous intelligent functions, it is just as impressive when traveling as it is when handling transport tasks in everyday life and during leisure time.
A wider luggage compartment opening combined with the low loading sill enables large items of luggage to be stowed comfortably. Regardless of their drive technology, all variants of the new BMW 5 Series Touring have a luggage compartment volume that can be expanded from 570 to up to 1,700 liters. In addition to the automatic tailgate operation, remote unlocking of the 40:20:40 split rear seat backrest from the trunk is also part of the standard equipment. Storage compartments under the load compartment floor provide space for the luggage compartment partition net, the trunk cover and the charging cable of the fully electric and plug-in hybrid models.
Fully electric BMW i5 Touring in two versions from the start.
The new BMW i5 Touring is the first fully electric premium model in its competitive environment. It will be offered in two versions from the start. In the BMW i5 M60 xDrive Touring, two highly integrated drive units on the front and rear axles together form an electric all-wheel drive with up to 442 kW/601 hp. The system torque is up to 820 Nm when the M Launch Control or M Sport Boost function is activated. The top model sprints from a standstill to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, and its top speed is electronically limited to 230 km/h. The electric motor of the BMW i5 eDrive40 Touring (combined power consumption according to WLTP: 19.3 to 16.5 kWh/100 km) located on the rear axle generates a maximum output of 250 kW/340 hp and a maximum torque of up to 430 Nm with Sport Boost or Launch Control function. The BMW i5 eDrive40 Touring accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds.
In both models, the high-voltage battery located in the underbody provides a usable energy content of 81.2 kWh. In addition to the efficient electric motors, the adaptive recuperation and heat pump technology for heating and cooling the interior, drive and high-voltage battery contribute to the long-distance suitability of the BMW i5 Touring. The range determined in the WLTP test procedure is 445 to 506 kilometers for the BMW i5 M60 xDrive Touring and 483 to 560 kilometers for the BMW i5 eDrive40 Touring.
