Great review and another great video man. I agree with the bucking in the rear and slowing down for square edge g outs. The machine does not like that situation. We have been happy with our 22 xxc with around 1200 miles on it now. It's a beast of a machine for sure. Future changes I would like to see from canam would be easier access to the air filter, and make it easier for transmission and rear diff fluid changes. Those are my 3 pet peeves on this machine. Separate brake controls would be nice too.
@ethanmunger33745 ай бұрын
How can you get any easier access to the air filter or the rear diff? It would be very easy for them to make the gearbox fluid easier to change though.
@OdysseyOffroad5 ай бұрын
@@ethanmunger3374 The fact that you got to remove the entire Hood after taking the seat off is a bit of a silly design especially the way that Hood mounts and those tabs are so annoying to line up after you reinstall it it'd be much easier to have a little removable hatch there in the front of the seat to get to the air box that just pops off. Also the rear diff is ridiculous that tiny little drain hole that you need a small Allen key on the side of the differential ends up spilling fluid all over and runs down the frame without fail when you drain it. The better design would be like other manufacturers do have the drain bolt underneath and it just simply empties out into a pan. That design would be both less messy and make for a better flush of the rear diff when you're draining old fluid out. In order to get all the fluid out of the rear currently the way it is you have to jack up the right side of the unit and tilt it towards the left rear and then I usually pump some fresh fluid in there and wait forever for it to drain out because the drain hole is so tiny. The transmission access is simply ridiculous.
@ethanmunger33745 ай бұрын
@OdysseyOffroad Yah I forgot the renes are a little bit more of a pain to get to the air filter. The outtys it takes all of 20 seconds.

They used to have a separate frame from the outlanders when they first came out. Then they changed them to have the exact same frame as the outlander and then did away with the extra braking. It’s a money saving thing. Now they only have to make one style of parts for them and still charge the same amount of money for the machine. However I agree I wish more atvs came with dual brake levers. It makes more sense and adds an extra level of safety in my opinion

Is the intelligent braking system noticeable? I have a 21 renegade xxc. And I hate how jerky it is on and off the throttle. There are times I like the engine braking on steep downhill. But normal trail riding it’s too much.
@ATVonDemand5 ай бұрын
It's definitely noticeable. In our testing it made about a forty foot difference in how quickly the machine rolled to a stop when we let off the gas at 25 MPH when comparing the minimum to the maximum setting.

Is it just me or does that thing look brutally rough to ride? Suspension seems extremely stiff and rigid. I ride a Polaris and very much want to switch to canam for a renegade but my Polaris rides like a cloud. That thing looks like my chiropractors dream.
@ATVonDemand2 ай бұрын
The suspension is stiffer than your Sportsman 1000 for sure. But that lets you ride it harder. The Sportsman will reach the limits of its suspension travel more often. If you value a plush ride over flatter cornering an more bottoming resistance the Polaris works a bit better.
