2024 Channel Update

Well, I’m back from hiatus and ready to get this year started-Halloween Season will be here before we know it and I have a lot planned!

I just found your channel last year and subscribed. Using your instructions I made my first very small Halloween village layout. It, of course, is not as detailed or to your quality level...but I am happy with it. I am looking forward to the projects you described because I am now considering a small Christmas village in the future. Thank you for all your instructions and videos. Very much appreciated. Carl! I took a bit of a break myself this year and just put something on my counter. I spent most of my free time cleaning up the piles of movie film that I never got to due to my mom’s various health issues. Ended up just doing the counter display and putting my German nutcrackers out!

Carl.so glad you are back,missed seeing Christmas set up.but understand abt burn out.I too had a great holiday but like you I didn’t set up my Christmas villiage.I ran out of time,and was excited to get house decorated my grandson who is in the air force got to come home this year.so didn’t set up.but sooooo glad your back

I’m excited to see the Grimsley Manor project videos. I think they will help me learn some new skills to improve my Halloween village. We had to go out of town unexpectedly between Thanksgiving and Christmas and my Christmas village didn’t get put up either. Sometimes a little break is a good thing!

I am so glad you and your wife are doing great health wise. I am also thrilled that you will be making more videos in the near future. I've learned so much from you in a short time. In fact, I attempted to make a Christmas Village incorporated with a Carnival. Mine is no where on the quality that you do, but I was thrilled to give it my best. I even put a few things on KZbin hoping I would not be embarrassing myself. lol. This village creating is so much fun, and so addictive. Carl, Yeah, Hobby Burnout is a real thing, and unfortunately, there are some hobbies I'll never go back to, because I went too full force on. That said, I learned some valuable lessons, and now I look out for tedium signs, like frequent heavy sighs, anger or frustration at the smallest of things, or the false obligation to "push through" to get things done. When I see any of these things, I immediately take a break. Villaging should be a joy, and stepping back once in awhile can keep it that way. I think you were smart to recognize a mounting situation and course correct. I always say, do what's right for you, regardless of any other factors. I find that produces better end results, even if they aren't the most elaborate ideas in one's head.
