2024 Chery Tiggo 8 Pro Malaysia Review - We didn't like it at first, but then...🧐

Our initial impressions of the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro weren't particularly strong, but after spending more time with it, we were thoroughly impressed. It's easy to see why it's hailed as the best value-for-money seven-seater SUV in Malaysia.

This was my initial plan of getting this car... but after a series of incidents... from brake issues in Australia (total 5900++ recalls), and brake issues in Malaysia.. then broken axle... then until recently, issues with the E5... i think I will continue to let the time to prove Ch**y proof itself, and their attitude whenever they face adverse incident is just giving me the cold chill. I mean, I am totally impressed with their design language.. economical price tag with impressive features, but at this time.. they are just conducting their business beyond their capability. On the other hand, there are also lots of complaints about this model in China if you do sufficient studies from various local China local channels (such as 小红书), the local were complaining that the internal electronic systems were having issues and their local 4S were not very capable to handle it. So.... all in all.. yeah... I am gonna keep my eyes observing (including their sub-brands such as Jetour, Jaecoo & etc. - especially Jaecoo, their Range Rover design language is really my true love, but I really do not want to put myself and my family's safety at risk).

This car has been on sale in South Africa for a few years already as the prefacelift and now this facelift. There have been no issues to date. Bigger manufacturers that have been in the industry for decades have had worse issues and recalls like Toyota for self accelerating vehicles, lethal airbags etc and BMW for vehicles catching alight, Mercedes for numerous stuff too. It is all over. People are quick to complain about things but forget that their old manufacturers have problems too and handle it even worse.

Maybe there is a problem with the supplier or local assembly, but there is no such problem in Chinese mainland.
