I went with a fully loaded ZR2 Colerado in lieu of the Bison or Desert Boss. The spare tire in the back was the issue for me. Love my truck the way it is and when the tires eventually wear out I can always look at going to a larger tire in the future. But realistically for most people the majority of driving is on pavement / dirt roads so 10.2" of clearance is more than enough lol.

My 2024 Canyon Denali performed great off-road the last 2 trips. Alpine loop from Lake City, Co and Valley of the Gods in Utah. No issue with ground clearance, power, torque, and ride. Very pleased with this off-road suspension. Highway driving is as quiet and smooth as previous Lexus SUV’s I’ve owned.

35 fits just fine under the truck, I put 35s on my standard ZR2 and put the 35 in the stock location. They don't put it there for departure clearance reasons

The Gladiator, ZR2 Bison and Cannon AT4X AEV Edition are the best mid size trucks period. The Ranger Raptor has the best power train though. Wish GM would have used a twin turbo V6 instead if they weren't going to use a V8.

I´m a Ranger Raptor user and this beauty definitely took me by surprise! Although it has a 4 cil engine and 310 hp, it's surprisingly strong and reliable. The interiors and design are beautiful; it has more physical buttons than the Ranger Raptor, a sunroof and cooled seats, the plates all under the truck and the cameras under it! On my particular opinion, 2nd place after the Ranger and better than te Tacoma TRD and even Trailhunter. The only little thing that I didn't like about the ZR2 is that it doesn't have a handle and it's a little complicated to get up on it.

one of the sharpest mid size trucks out, but not sure about the 4 cyl turbo and the fuel mileage, I've seen in other reviews it does like 16mpg.

I agree 💯 on the interior. It's underwhelming, especially when compared to the Ranger Raptor. I dont like the yellow stitching. It's an odd choice and doesn't blend well. I do like the screen and dashboard layout, tho. GM should've put the spare tire on the passenger side, instead of giving the driver a major blind spot.

Engine has been in the Silverado since 2019, and has been very reliable. It's not a turbo from the 80's. This 2.7 was built from the ground up like a diesel, with a fully forged bottom end. It seems lately the V8s have with AFM have been the engines not holding up.

That spare tire is in the perfect spot. It's good to see that Colorado Bison here used their heads and put the spare tire in an appropriate spot unlike the rest of the herd of mindless zombie truck manufacturers that just shove it under the bed where it cuts into ground clearance and away they went. I'll give y'all a for instance here. I once had a friend with a Tahoe who got a flat tire. So naturally he went crawling under the butt end of the vehicle rather ungracefully to grab the spare and low and behold it was all gone... Whole thing rusted out and long fell on the highway and gone before he ever had known it. Oh yea we do live in the rust belt! More manufacturers need to get them spares off of the bottom end of the vehicles stick it where it's more accessible and not put it where it's exposed to all sorts of road debris and cut so much into ground clearance.

The only reason that spare is in the bed is because it won’t fit under the bed at 35”. For trucks or SUVs that aren’t dedicated off-roaders like this it makes far more sense to store the spare under the bed or under the rear floor pan where it isn’t cutting into the cargo area space.

It's designed for maximum off-road capability and that means increasing the ground clearance as much as possible and also to have easy access to that spare tire when inevitably you lose tire and you need to readily access your spare tire and not have to crawl under the butt end of the truck in precarious off-road situations. That spare tire is in the perfect spot!

Sunroofs should not be on a pick up truck if you want a sunroof get a SUV or car. What is I don't get why people want them I had plenty of sunroofs that failed and when they fail with leaks or whatever the case it's super costly to fix. I have a sunroof on my current vehicle which I regret but when it's time to replace my vehicle I will not be getting a sunroof and I won't regret it in my opinion pick up trucks should never have a sunroof it's stupid in my opinion.

Ridiculous...the headlight controls are so easy, it's an always available icon on the top left of the screen, that requires a "tap-tap". Literally no more effort than a light switch down by your left knee. The shifter placement actually works, I didn't like it at first, but it totally works. I have a '23 Pro4x and a '23 ZR2....the frontier feels like it should have been released 8 years ago and the knobs and buttons that you like so much are in the most random and inconvenient places. The diff lock button is down by my left shin. LOL. So weird and it's not very comfortable.
