Jarome Hughes won the Dally M medal, One of the highest awards given to an NRL player. Not to mention the fact that it's given once every year to ONE person. What those boys did for him tonight was amazing and isn't an example of the Haka being overused. Do better, rather then hating on a class gesture towards someone who ACTUALLY deserves it. Perfect use of the Haka tonight boys, well done Jahrome! ❤

I know you will hate me but if a Samoan won the medal would they stop the proceedings and have a public prayer meeting? If someone of Asian heritage won would they hold a Buddhist, Hindu or Sikhism ceremony? If an indigenous player won would ...you get my idea. Did anyone ask permission for this to be done or did they just think it was their right to do a haka? I thought I heard the presenter say " And that concludes the coverage of the ......" Hey I am happy for "new" Australians to celebrate their heritage but the old phrase "time and place". Kiwi's talk a lot about respect but it seems its only their version of respect that counts. Hey my best mate is a Pom, My second best mate is indigenous and I'm married to an Asian lady. Call me what you wish.....

She concluded the show everyone knew jt was pretty much finished. Stop being salty. One of the highest honours in rugby league so the fellow kiwis showed respect. You’re just not accustomed to the culture. Judging by your username you’re Aussie. The Aussie “culture” is aboriginals and not ever Aussie is in indigenous. I’m Samoan myself so I know my heritage so there’s nothing wrong with what they did here. It was 1 minute right at the end out of the whole award ceremony grow up
@AuusieguyАй бұрын
@@MoistMann A few points - Maybe look up the definition of "culture". Australia is a multicultural country - multicultural - many cultures. 3. 2%, say again, 3.2 % of the Australian population have an indigenous heritage. There is concern in NZ circles that the haka is overdone, might interest you to know a Maori co leader was kicked out the NZ parliament for doing a haka in protest.
@MoistMannАй бұрын
@@Auusieguy there are people in Australia that are from different cultures because Australia is not their native country so their culture isn’t celebrated as much as their home town would. With Australia and New Zealand both sharing the commonwealth NZ culture is celebrated heavily in Australia. It is a cultural New Zealand activity so it can be celebrated however. It’s racist like you who seem to have a problem with it. If we were in a different country and that homeland was celebrating that culture no one would say anything
