Late hubby installed pull outs in all my base cabinets in the kitchen and bathrooms, he was handy, he built all the pull-out shelves out of wood and just bought the slider thing-a-ma-gigs. It was the best improvement EVER! I appreciated them when I was in my early 50s, but I REALLY appreciate them in my mid 70s.

I love the pull outs. It’s silly but when we bought this house, one of the things that excited us is that some of our cabinets had pull outs. It’s amazing the things we declutter when we think there won’t be anything to declutter.

I hate heavy mixing bowls... hurt my hands. So as soon as we reach "big" mixing bowl, i switch to metal bowls. Works awesome for me.

Sophia you did a great job fitting the sliders into your cabinets. They look really sturdy and good quality too. I liked the way they have zoned all the different categories of cookware, and because of their size I think this will help you limit the amount of things you are tempted to keep moving forward, providing a great boundary. Personally if it was me, I would put the large mixing bowl stacks on one of the bottom sliders because of their weight, just as a precaution incase the sliders warp a little overtime. However, I get that they are heavy to lift onto the countertop and putting them lower means slightly more bending and lifting. Also, I love how you placed all your nice glassware platters in the big cabinet with all your other clear glass, thus zoning that together too. It makes such good sense to keep them in that drawer. Well done on donating the stuff you don’t need to, I think you are getting really good at not being tempted to keep things that no longer serve you, just because you like the look of them or you have had them a while. Streamlining kitchen items definitely improves the overall cooking experience because it make everywhere easier to keep clean. Simplicity and organisation is key.

These three ideas have helped me: #1 If you have something else to use instead of the item, let it go #2 Only keep as many of each serving and baking items as you would use at one time (ie mixing bowls, platters) #3 (biggest one) Stay out of thrift stores

That was so fun to watch!! I tried installing pull out shelves myself years ago and could NOT do it. My cabinet shelves are 50 years old and not removable either and I didn't have the proper tools to drill holes for the screws. Scott is going to love this pull out drawer system as it will help him reach his favorite mixing bowls easily. Great job, Sophia!

Love this! You are a DIY gal have you considered putting in a full drawer pull out in your cabinet? They cut the middle cover for where the doors meet and place it onto one of the doors so it is out of the way making the full shelf useable. And the cabinet front looks untouched.

Wow, great work! For first not thinking anything would be decluttered, that is a huge difference! Love the rollout shelves. We have some of those tabs as well. Then metal ones elsewhere. One good thing about them is that the shelves certainly stay in place, and the tabs don't just fall out.

I bought baskets I can pull in out like drawers in lower cabinets, they work great for a person who is not as handy to install those pull outs. I do have 4 drawers in my lower cabinets though. I wish they were all drawers!!

Your cabinet was like one of those clown cars where more and more keep coming out , that fit a lot of things . 1st thing I said though was she needs sliding drawers and what did you say you were getting on Amazon? Great minds ! I had those same mixing bowls that you said that Scott likes to use when he cooks . I had to declutter mine . They were way too heavy for me . The only place they fit was in the top cupboard and it was a no for me , I had them one year . Great job on your declutter. Looks Amazing!!! Love & prayers ❤️ 🙏🏻

A very useful upgrade. Have you considered installing battery-operated motion activated lights in the back of these deep cabinets? When the door is opened the light will pop on and you can see what's in the back.

Great declutter and reorganizing! I love those pull out shelves. I have those horrible shelf holder pegs too! I fought to get them all out and cut off those clips in the front so the shelves just sit on the flat part. I wish they would use metal clips instead of those aggravating things. That pink hoodie is cute and looks comfortable like a long sleeve T-shirt rather than fleece sweatshirt material. What brand is it and where can I find it?
