Although he received criticism in the comments section for using a controller alone, it is worth noting that this DJ previously stood out as the only Japanese artist to have placed 2nd place in the DMC NEW YORK finals at the time, competing against world-famous regulars such as Shifty, i.e.Merge, Precision, Esquire, and so on. In his Instagram story, he also revealed that using a controller was a deliberate choice and that he accepted the challenges it brought. This approach is especially commendable considering that, for the first time, DMC allowed the use of any kind of DJ gear in the competition. His willingness to explore new possibilities in this evolving environment is truly admirable.

I'm new to the turntable scene. Is it the controller setup or the performance?

To any1 complaining that a Controller is used, read the rules of the The DMC Open section. DMC hosts 4 types of competitions, & THIS comp is the only 1 that says "All DJ equipment is permitted". Further into the rules, it seems to lean to a 3Style type comp - "The DMC Open is DMC’s first open-format mixing DJ competition." This is not the DMC Classic, DMC Supremacy or DMC Scratch comp.

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH Whut the frig was this, I hate dissin but DMC got a lot to answer for … I’ve moved with the times from Swift, Cashmoney, Char Jackson and all the way through to the last few years but this is not what DMC was about…. No way as much as I hate to say it, no way is this gettin close Smh

@ nope, and the thing is I grew up with and on 1210’s / 1200’s and then sold them after 20+ years due to a family, space and time BUT I have and do your DDJ Controllers inc my Rane One and have no issue with using either, It’s how you use them and the amount of skill to button pushing ratio…it’s just very sad to see as one of the 5 elements of Hip Hop
