2024 Draft Horse Classic - Lex joins a Merry-Go-Round of Horses Practicing in the Warm-Up Area

Lex turned three last May so he is still a youngster. It is a good thing Annette started handling him as soon as his mom, Bella, dropped him on the ground because now he is huge and has the mindset of a teenager. But this year has not been good healthwise for Annette so consequently Lex has not had the consistent schooling she had hoped to give him. This string of video clips from my iPhone shows Doc driving Lex in the warm-up area with Randie heading him when necessary and otherwise assisting from the ground.  Lex was in the warm-up area for about an hour and there were other horses practicing too, which worked out great because he is still very green and needed this exposure to show conditions. Doc had been a little under the weather with laryngitis so his voice didn’t last long; that’s why Randie hopped aboard halfway through the workout and took the lines. By the end of the session, Lex had settled to a good working attitude.
