It's because the exhaust is quieting the sound. In fact the 296 sound very good. it's here with the exhaust regulations on track.

Imagine a 4.0L naturally-aspirated 8500 rpm V6 in the back. Wouldn't even be any slower in road trim if the electric motors made up the difference. Alas, we get this.

Hopefully it enter and race in GT2 just like the 488 Challenge Evo back in 2021, would be awesome to see more manufacturers in GT2 😊

It really does have a nice sound, however muted it is by the turbos

The turbos actually don't muffler it that much, it's usually always the muffler system that muffles cars not the turbos.
