I like Mike Norvell's ability to adapt to whatever his strengths are. In this case, a very large and experienced offensive line with a plethora of versatile RBs. DJU will not have to light it up but I expect him to take another step forward under Norvell's tutelage. The offense will be more ground and pound with selective shots down the field off play action. DJU is not a Jordan Travis with his legs, but I expect his size (250 lbs) to get us those third and short yardage first downs that were difficult in the past. Our defense will be top ten at least with an elite secondary and d-line. They say that defense and a good running game travels well, which will help us in road games at Miami and Notre Dame. I think the floor is 9-3, ceiling 12-0 if everything breaks right. As far as the snub goes, we did get snubbed, but I don't think the team or Norvell is focused on that. It's more the fans that look back at that.

I'd say that is one big advantage of having so many transfers come in. Those guys don't really care what happened last year. They just want to win. If you were on the team last year and are distracted by it, the transfers will start over you. Simple. Fresh blood to flush out the old hangups.

I think you can make a stronger argument for FSU losing the GT game than losing the SMU game. I get that it's a big game for SMU but I also think you're underestimating the FSU running game a bit. Toafili is pretty proven. IF the FSU OL is as good as they are being said to be and the Noles can run the ball effectively that will go a long way to winning at SMU. Not needing DJU to win the game with his arm would be big. I think as with any game turnovers will be key. If FSU turns the ball over a bunch of times to SMU that will keep emotion high on the SMU side and aid their cause. But back to GT, I think they'll be a dangerous team this year. Catching FSU before FSU has had a chance for all the new players to gel with the team is big for them. If they load the box to slow the run and force DJU to throw the ball to receivers he hasn't built familiarity with yet it could be interesting. Still, if FSU beats SMU but loses to GT the end result is the same as far as ACC standings.

I think we struggle with SMU but in the end our run game will overpower them but I do have us losing to Miami and ND but rematching Miami in the ACC championship for the win, than losing in the playoffs with a final record of 11-3 which would be a good setup for next year.

FSU fan here. Not onboard with this. When making these predictions, no one ever considers team depth. Power five teams classically have the advantage of substitution depth; these predictions never account for that. If our offensive line holds and stays healthy, we will win every game.

Well I gave in and watched and I will give props @THE Uncle Lou wasnt as cringe as I expected. However, you missed a lot of context about this team. Fans have already moved on from the scrimmage game in the Orange Bowl, you should too. Oh, just to piss you off, we are still 13-0. Anyways: 1. DJU - he will have his best year statistically under Norvell then he had at Clem or OrSt. He has different strengths then Travis and Norvell will cater the O around that unlike what Dabo did forcing DJU to play their O and not to his strengths. No FSU fan is expecting him to win a Heisman and guess what? He doesnt need to. 2. DJU will have the best corp of talent in every position then anywhere else he played including Clemson as you even said...what happened to their WR room? 3. Keon Coleman was hurt, opps..."not 100%" the last half of the year. So yes, talent wise, FSU doesnt have a WR on the roster to match Keon but it isnt a significant drop off as you want to make it. As for Johnny Wilson, he underperformed per many of the FSU fans. Of course a 6'7 WR is going to draw attention but it isnt the end all be all. 4. The FSU WR group this year is by far, much faster. Keon wasnt a burner. You didnt even mention two players that have the FSU fans excited so I bet you dont even know who they are I am speaking of. One is a transfer and the other is a freshman WR drawing much praise and will play this year. 5. Johnny Benson is a loss, sure but this years RB room has 4 or 5 weapons with all different strengths and much faster. 6. DL: Verse and Fiske are major losses but this year DL is much deeper and they can rotate more players. Even then, Farmer and Jackson will still be a deadly combo and they have Payton and Marv Jones Jr on the end. 7. OL is three deep at all 5 spots. This will lead to FSU being more run first (or RPO) then throwing first. 8. The defense and specifically the DB corp is by far, much better this year. The LB room improved as well with Riley from Auburn. 9. ST: Numerous guys earning preseason praise and recognition for their potential this year from Punter to PK. 10. They aren't losing to SMU. 10-2 minimum.

Issue for FSU is depth. Norvell has not recruited as well as you believe. He has been there enough years to have great depth but does not. Compare it to Mario at Miami going into his 3rd season has great depth across the board.
