That winter pack is so useful! Curious.. have you run into any issues with your Edge since you've owned it?

Those old 2008 were great rides! If you haven't yet.. check out the Bronco Sport too. It doesn't have the larger infotainment system or some of the available tech like the new Escape but has the boxier style look that the old 2008 has
@DarkDramon Жыл бұрын
@CarsWithSteve I can't begin to talk about how much I love my 08 escape, it's the v6 xlt model. And it's still going strong. Just the suspension is starting to go and the cost to fix it vs get a new one is constantly on my mind. Just hard to let go.

I hear you.. my brother in law has a 2008 Escape too with 200,000km+ on it. Loves it and doesn't want to get rid of it either. Buy newer vs fix is always a tough choice

Are you certain about the hands free lift gate being offered on the ‘24 Escape? My understanding is it was deleted in 2023.

Ohh I just double checked an updated order guide and you're right... it's not available. Thanks for pointing out that correction Michael!

I just bought a 2024 Platinum in Canada and the reason is they actually had it in-stock and I always enjoyed them when I rented one. Other than VW, up here stock for what you want unless you wanna wait 8 mos or make a deposit on a car you never test drove, you take the best you can get. I unfortunately couldn't get a KIA Sportage (which is what I had my eye on for a long time) or even test drive one. It is a sad reality up here in Canada. I have owned 2 x KIAs the past 12 years and was happy w/both the 2012 Optima EX and 2016 Sorento SX. Too bad for the KIA dealership but I needed a car so I end to Ford. The Optima needed to go and coincidentally the engine died a day after I sold it but KIA is replacing the engine for the buyer as it qualified for the KIA customer satisfaction extended engine warranty on those models. Anyhow. Long story short, I enjoy the Escape's power in the 2.0L Turbo, the fact it drives like a high end car and that it has some of the best tech you can buy. Oh, and 0.99 over 60 mos is hard to turn down over 3.99 and up everywhere else other than GM.

Sucks that you had to jump brands because of availability but glad that you're at least enjoying the new ride! The 2.0L is surprisingly peppy for its size. Is it the first time that you've owned a Ford as well?

Actually i owned a little 1993 Ford Aspire. Lol. It was a greeat cheap car. Bought it as a demo for $9000.00 CDN all in at the time believe it or not. Lol it was my first new car purchase acruallyl@CarsWithSteve

I owned 3 Ford Escapes - 2012 - 2015 and a 2019. Due to the intercooler not working properly, my 2.0 liter 2019 Escape's engine had coolant leaking through out it. I since got rid of it. I looked at the new Edge than both the Lincoln Corsair and Nautilus. Similar engine issues drove me away from Ford.
@CarsWithSteve Жыл бұрын
I haven't heard many bad things about that engine but that sucks that was the case for your 2.0L! What car did you end up in after the Escape?
@cjdamnit Жыл бұрын
The Ford dealer told me they replaced it with a new engine. It had to be ordered and when it came in, they would give me a rental. The day I was to get the rental, the engine was installed. I had another mechanic look at it and detemined it was the same engine just repaired. I was not happy with the service but realized the dealership I purchased all three Escapes from was under new ownership. I decided to buy an Infiniti QX50. I understand all vehicles have issues in both how we take care of and drive them but I always have the dealerships throw in a full warranty. @@CarsWithSteve

Wow that's super shady of that dealer to do. Haven't gotten into Infiniti reviews yet but it's on the list this year. How's the QX50 been treating you so far?

It's been great. Drove it on two different road trips (200 miles each) and averaged 28.6 mpg. It has a Bose premium 16 speaker system. I owned Ford's most of my life starting with a 1986 Escort, 1991 Escort, 1999 Ranger, 2007 Focus, 2012 Escape, 2015 Escape and 2019 Escape@@CarsWithSteve
