The 7.3L gas really responds to flowmaster dual exhaust. Expect 2 to 3 MPG overall improvement.

I like my 23 6.7 HO ex LF350 regular cab 8 foot bed the only thing I would notice climbing in mountains and winding roads is the lag of upshifting climbing mountains either clearing trailers or not caring trailers that I have to put into manual configurations do you so for sure is my choice I don’t think he would see much of a difference between a 430 and a 373 other than power takeoff thanks for sharing

I would say for around town gas is your choice but for interstate highway driving diesel would be your choice because of the weight in the front is he more stable Drive in the power is undeniably supreme

I’d like to get some feedback. I am currently comparing the 7.3l and diesel from Ford in a 350. I am going to be putting on a truck camper and payload is very important to me. I know the gas engine weighs less which will give me around 800lbs extra payload, but driving around just under GVWR all the time, I want to ask which engine would you go with?
@CTECH-REVIEW
@CTECH-REVIEW 22 күн бұрын
Do your homework on payload. Reason I say this is many of the gas trucks have same payload as diesels for 2023. If you take a look at my 2023 f350 tremor 7.3 drive video then compare it to my 2023 tremor high output diesel lariat payload.

I have just over 10,000 miles on my 2024 F350 SRW 6.7 HO Platinum Tremor and right at 3,000 miles of 5th wheel towing. I tow a Brinkley Z3610 fully maxed out payload wise for the Brinkley and also for the truck’s payload of 3,868. We are 18,000 pounds fully loaded for 10 day trips. I tend to drive pretty quick at 70 to 75 miles an hour since they are a commercial, rated tires and feel pretty confident. At that speed I get 8.9 to 9.1 miles in a gallon, depending on the hills. Driving from Dallas to Ruidoso, New Mexico I got 8.9 driving from Dallas to the 30A area of Florida I got 9.1. On this trip going from Florida to Dallas, I got airbags and this was the first trip with them and the chugging that comes along with a gooseneck was 100% gone, shockingly gone, at 50 psi it was gone. At 20 psi in the air bags and when driving on concrete roads, it would chug it ass off a, just like without them, a violent feeling of chug. There is a small difference with how it feels unloaded as far as the airbags go, however the trade-off as well worth it in my opinion. The truck hold 10th gear most of the and drop to 8th gear when it gets to a hill of 1% or greater. When towing it drinks the DEF some where around 1 gallon per 150 miles otherwise I can go 1,000 miles it seems like on a gallon of DEF. I wouldn’t trade the truck for anything. I nearly got a the F450 but decided not to because I like car washes and drive-through.

@@CTECH-REVIEWthank you, I missed your response. We absolutely love the Brinkley, we got the Z3610 because of the bunk room or second bedroom that our 21 year old son uses. The layout of the kitchen, living room, and master is just unbeatable IMO. After we get back from a trip we miss being in it. We just got back from Hot Springs, Arkansas. We are seeing so much of America that we wouldn’t have done other wise. I now have 15k mile on the truck and just over 4,600 miles of towing the Brinkley. For what ever reason I got 1.6 MPG better on this trip then in my above comment. 10.6 MPG. Maybe the diesel engine is broke in, I did start using the Arch oil fuel treatment. What ever the reason it was impressive to see that kind of an increase.

What do you mean 'chugging'?
@Captain-Awesome
@Captain-Awesome 16 күн бұрын
@@kleetus92 Some call it Bucking some call it chucking. It occurs when the gooseneck is running into the tow vehicle because it’s moving faster than the vehicle pulling it due to the frequency as it moves along the road you can happen at bridges. It can happen on concrete roads generally does not happen on tar and gravel roads or blacktop roads.

My 5.0 liter could hold 6th gear at 70 most of the time while towing but not if there was much uphill grade at all. I'm also at 5-8,000 ft of elevation most of the time. Not sure how the godzilla would compare. Kinda had my heart set on a diesel but the godzilla has got me thinking.

I’ve had my 2022 F-250 Lariat UP Tremor for two years, and has been amazing. The only maintenance is essentially changing the oil. I don’t have anything to tow, and all I haul are steel plates and other range gear. Occasionally stuff from the hardware store etc. I wanted a Raptor, but not enough bed (real estate) space to haul my junk. The 7.3 gas engine is outstanding and rather peppy around my metro city and averages 12.4 with my fairly heavy foot. If I were to tow/haul maybe 2/3 of the capacity all the time or something like interstate, I’d opt for the 6.7. Something I’m pondering is putting a Carli Dominator system on my truck and 37 in tires. Besides dropping the MPG to 10 (pure speculation), still better than a Raptor and almost Raptor like capability in a heavy duty truck. That suspension might be geared toward the 6.7, but I wonder how well it’ll work with the 7.3 gasser? I mean, how many F150 types do we see running around with a 6-inch lift?

I’ve always preferred gassers over diesels mainly for their simplicity and the power has improved over the years. That 7.3 is what I have on the F-350 XLT Tremor I ordered, front cloth buckets and rubberized floor for durability. I too was surprised with rear leafs between a regular 250 and 250 Tremor also being the first truck I will own with rear leaf springs coming from a Power Wagon with rear link suspension. I got to test a regular 6.7 and 7.3 earlier this year and quite frankly the Godzilla feels right on the money, for my intended use that is and I just love trucks with big gas engines. The 6.7 on the other hand also has s lot of power but I don’t tow heavy enough to justify having one.

I tow heavy regularly with my 22 king ranch 7.3 4.30 gears. It tows almost as well as my low mile 2008 cummins on 100hp tune. Grossing 32k on the same long hill the cummins losses 2 mph gas losses 4 to 5 mph both are wide open. Fuel economy cummins 8.5 to 9 mpg and gas 5 to 6 . Short trip rual towing at 60mph.

I have 2023 Ram 350 HO 6.7.. It is good for me, but for my future trucks, I will take the gas engine to lowering the cost. Why don't you compare F350 7.3 gas to F350 6.7. Regular unlead gas is $1 cheaper per gallon than buying the diesels at all other cheap gas stations.

Ford truck front ends are so ugly. I hope they change the design soon. The 19' lariat front ends were WAY better. I also wish they didn't dip the driver and pass window sills for the mirrors. Most useless and ugliest design I ever seen.
@CTECH-REVIEW
@CTECH-REVIEW 3 ай бұрын
I think they started the dip for the mirror on the super duty in 1999. Then they started it in the F150 in 2004.
