High firing rate, fits a 50 magazine, a grande launcher and gets really powerful once you upgrade it to level 30. Lately I switched it for the G2. The assumption that the new Toyotas will be more reliable is just that. There are performance conversion companies all over the US. Have you ever heard of Hennessey Performance? Probably not. Well, they are well known in the US and convert the standard V6 twin turbo engine in the Ranger Raptor to make 500 HP. The standard Coyote V8 makes 460 HP. Horseshoeing a Coyote V8 into a Ranger Raptor isn't all that difficult. It becomes a question of why? A Ford Permance tune will get 455 HP out of the standard V-6 for $825. I think that is enough. This is an off road vehicle, not a race car.
@ROC8053 ай бұрын
@JimBering are you serious?...Hennessey is available in Australia... and we have tune shops here and South Africa that get well over 600 hp out of the new Ranger Raptor.... and there is Herrod here in Australia that has a upgrade for it that gives it 509 hp and 575 ft lbs .. with a full 5 year warranty all covered by ford including hardware.
@JimBering3 ай бұрын
@@ROC805 The Ford Performance tune is not available in Australia. This is the only one I would get since it is by Ford and doesn't void the warranty. Plus it is cheap as these things go. The American Ranger Raptor starts out with more HP and torque than the Austrailian version so it's already fast enough for most people. Well over 600 hp? What company is that? Hennessey, Texas company charges $24,950 for its tune which is more than a chip change and it gets 500 hp. That is ridiculously expensive to get 45 hp over the Ford Performance tune. With enough money, you can make a car into a spaceship. I suspect in a few years Ford will come out with a Ranger Raptor R like they did with the F-150.

In 2011 the Ranger was redesigned into the current shape and form, building off its previous Ranger model here in Aus, the PK model. It use to be called a Courier and also was rebadged by Mazda Australia as a Bravo, because Mazda has never made there own version of any ute. That’s why a 5 1/2 foot bed is standard because nobody can drive anything bigger when it has four-doors and a 6 1/2 foot bed that tends to be too cumbersome for most people. That’s why you still only have a 5 1/2 foot bed on a full-size truck. Which is absolutely ridiculous. At least this is a 5 foot bed on a midsize truck. That makes more sense. Love the video though.

And the thing is, the footprints have hardly changed. The Ranger got a few inches wider over the past decade, but that's about it. For the most part they're all within a couple inches in width and length as old trucks. They have gotten a bit taller and a lot heavier though.

I currently have a POS Canyon AT4X and can't wait for my Ranger Raptor to finally get built. Not just the electrical nightmares GM is producing but on trips I hate being stuck behind slow drivers. So I am really looking forward to have a vehicle capable of passing slower cars on a 2 lane highway.

The most cars I've passed in my life on 2-lane highways was in a Corolla during my college years...

Good thing you watched the video and saw the part where they said, "at speed, the Raptor doesn't have the get up and go that you'd expect."
@Tony-hf9mv8 ай бұрын
@IhateSIGNINGup4this will still need a test drive. Doesn't have the get up of a F150 raptor but I am more concerned with passing. Has to be better than the single turbo 4 bangers. I figure it should be close if not better to a non- hybrid tundra. Everyone does 0-60. I am more interested in 30-70 and 50-80

@riggidybang most cars I have passed in one run was 9. Speed limit was 55 but for some reason the person at the front of the line wanted to go no faster than 35

You know you have made it when you are filming the Land Cruiser, and managed to get a Raptor and a LX600 as support vehicles.

I’m a Chevy guy…the Ford Ranger Raptor is tough looking. I would buy it over the ZR2.
