There is no argument here. If you have deep pocket then settle for Alphard. Its all about the handling of the units. M8 and Alphard are very good cars

I don’t understand people’s “resale” value arguments. We had an Alphard 1st gen which my parents bought for 3.8M and had problems with rack and pinion but Toyota didn’t cover it on warranty and cost them around 70k pesos within just 2 years of ownership. They just sold it this year 2024 for 750k with 90k odo and engine problem that even Toyota couldn’t fix coz they don’t sell any VVT-i parts anymore. On what part did my parents earned that “resale value” since they lost 3M on SRP add to that maintenance around 50-100k per year?

Most vans are known and seen to be driven by an owner’s driver but not this one. The design and those wheels makes it a tito’s ride, man it’s such a baller. It’s just so cool and gwapo!

I like your review Jay, at least you're not like some of the other reviewers out there now that are clearly sucking up to the Chinese manufacturers, never mentioning any deficiencies or the fact they look clearly like other cars, at least you seem to have some objectivity here.

Do you buy vehicles for the resale value? If that's your sole purpose, then stick to overpriced Toyotas.

oh! the resale value question. even mercs, bimmers,jags suffer from the same fate. just stick to Hondas and Toyota. you cant even afford a GAC M8 anyway.

I never get this mentality. It reminds me of people who use the "limit charging to 80%" feature on iphones. They purposely cap their iphones and make life harder for themselves just so they gain an extra 5% of battery life in 2 years and gain an extra 5000 pesos in resale value. SMH.

The value for money is gone, and with recent geopolitical happenings, I don't see the Chinese going that much further in cars. They're all in on EV's. Our country doesn't really see itself shifting to that for at least another decade, maybe more.

That's what it is; that's pretty much all he does these days. Manufacturer pays for his expenses, plus perhaps some more, and he echoes what they tell him to say

@kevinbarry71 nowhere near as much as Reygan, that guy has become the voice of the Chinese automakers, this guy at least acknowledges some deficiencies and doesn't mind mentioning it looks like the Toyota.

This video was not paid for. If it was, it would be declared. Nobody told me what to say. I gave my honest opinion on the vehicle, mentioned the pros and cons, even mentioned the reasons why you should choose the competition over this. If you still think that it's "promotional", there's nothing that I can do to change your opinion.

And your 2 cons are VERY LAME. I hope you take this as a constructive feedback. I bought my car in 2022 based on your insightful reviews then
