"I have a curse of first events".... good lord. Swam twice a week. Had a swim coach. Trained swimming hard. Makes no sense. This is so sad. Glad Dave did these interviews this year. Lazar was a light! Thoughts are with his brother, his family, and his CrossFit community.

Yes, me too. I had to come back to this tonight. What happened today, SUCKED. It was devastating, but completely unpredictable. Dear Lord, please comfort Lazar’s family. Please give peace & strength to his CF family & please give Dave extra reassurance that he is doing what YOU gifted him to do. Amen

RIP Lazar... But 1 learning from this, even if you are very good at anything, one should always remember dangers of it. Lazar was very good swimmer so when he entered the lake, he was about 4th, but after half lake was passed he was 1st, but might be he over consumed body oxygen and then was not able to do much in water. We are feeling guilty we are also seeing online he was struggling, changing style of swimming continuously, took off his cap, but can't understand it's a struggle of him for life there. Still shocked to see Europe semifinal CrossFit topper, just left us like this....

Such a terrible tragedy but what really stuck out to me was how little Dave knows about these athletes. Lazar was a force who bested all of Europe and it was such a big deal that his brother made it back to compete with him by his side. Dave came off curious but not prepared and certainly not with the knowledge I’d expect the director of the CF Games to have. It’s a bit sad his lack of investment in Lazar and his peers.
