Odd nitpick, but that u-bolt on the rear diff cover being crooked is very lazy. $70k+ truck and assembly cant get a bolt straight? Must have been a Monday morning or Friday afternoon shift. Great job as usual. Thanks, JB!

Well reviewed. Interesting concept. An off-road review would be worthwhile. I suspect this would give the zR2 a run for its money for capability even if it doesn’t have the same carrying capacity.

What concerns me the most is the amount of "dealer installed" bits that are off-road critical, I have to assume that the average tech at a GM dealer has little experience putting such items on a vehicle and I would personally prefer a specialty shop who does such items daily. I could be wrong, I know jack chit about off-roading so there is that lol.

70K and FOUR CYLINDERS? Now before all the turbo clan cult jumps down my throat I DO acknowledge the power numbers for this are impressive, I just personally would prefer those same numbers, or more, from a larger displacement engine with more cylinders. I WILL change my tune when I start seeing these with 250,000+ miles on them with relatively few repairs beyond regular wear items.

You can get a 2024 Sierra AT4X AEV with the 3.0 Duramax for about the same price. Insanity to pay those prices for a midsize.

You can also buy a 3500HD Crew Cab SRW Trailboss LT duramax for $3000 less. I just bought one, it was $8000 under msrp due to factory and dealer incentives.

Its a useless 71k truck. Cant use the small bed cause tire is in the way. I would prefer a Ford Ranger Raptor at 15k saving...more of a dessert runner but just as capable, more stock power and the ability to get a Ford Approved Tuner from Ford. I agree these GMC trucks look the best and I do like the 34.5 tires...I just can't see spending that amount of coin for a midsize truck where you can get a really nicely equipped GMC 1500 for the same or slightly more that can do what a truck is suppose to do....tow and haul..

I'm guessing you COULD make the argument that if you wanted a dedicated off-road crawler, AND were going to add a bunch of AEV stuff post purchase, this MIGHT be a better value. Now I have to assume that very few people are in this set of circumstances so ya. I 6 have this truck and use it as one all the time. I build fencing out of the back and use it to haul on my farm. When im not doing that, i take wheeling. Its been great.
