I'm not sure who named the competition Barry sorry but the feeder only version of this event is called Golden rod :)

Exactly it should be re named Golden Pole. Then a new competition under Golden Reel, where you have to use a rod n reel.

Agreed!!.. I've never understood the lack of control when using a pole!.. I tried again and again and don't like them... Give me a method feeder anyway... Respect to all whatever they use.
