Guys, We totaled up all the parts that come on the bike that have pricing in the P&A Catalog. The total price of the parts is $7,500. This doesn't include Tax, paint, bike cover, tool kit, or powder coating.
@TH3G0ODGUY
@TH3G0ODGUY Ай бұрын
Or any labor for that fact, with the CVO its all done at the factory, if you buy the 7500 dollars worth of parts you are putting all that stuff on yourself, so factory in how much you value your time too haha.

Love my '22 Pan Am special. Just hit 10k miles and im really glad i chose this over a bagger. I'm glad you all pointed out this is a capable touring road bike. Many HD guys come up to me at gas stations saying "i'd get one but i dont offroad", which makes it sound like you're required to offroad this! I'm willing to bet future versions of this bike will focus with the on-roading part. Just nervous since the '25's will be made in thailand. I hope they return production soon back to the US.

At about 13k my 2022 started having electrical problems. Battery first and then the stator. Wiring is a wreck and you best check if the main red wire to the regulator is not rubbing on the skid plate.. But it was a fun bike. I switched to a 2023 fltrxst 117cu inch and I am very happy. Thanks.

I bought one this fall, outstanding bike, does everything i could ask. The paint is flawless and its great 2up. The only thing its missing is the heat shield on the Cat. I got one from DEI that tucks in with the CVO bash plate. I also added the SE exhaust. As far as seat, the CVO seat is very good. I haven't felt the need to upgrade. Not to mention, its a beautiful motorcycle.

I live in Massachusetts, and there's a lot of off reading areas too, also only being 3 hours away from the White Mountains of NH and Green Mountains of Vermont, that bike would have a lot of use around here. Great video and review. I really love the Pan America except for one thing. I found the leg heat down here in Tennessee unbearable when I test rode one. Otherwise I truly loved it. I'm still tempted when ever I see pictures of the bike and in particular the Pan American CVO which you finally covered! I was kinda surprised that you all hadn't covered the bike all year actually. Laid Laws is my go to for Harley Davidson reviews, Matt and the whole team, you all do such a wonderful and fair job on your reviews. You'll actually list the pros & cons of each bike, which is truly nice. I've owned two Road Glides and six Harley's over the years. Currently on a 2020 Road Glide and I have been considering something more utilitarian and flexible like a Pan American or BMW etc. Wanting to drop 400 to 500 pounds on the weight of the bike and being able to go off road more easily with less issues really speaks. Not going all crazy like I was on a dirt bike but just being able to handle off road trails and unpaved roads with better handling. Question I have is this, what is the last date you can order the Pan America CVO?
@MattLaidlaw
@MattLaidlaw 29 күн бұрын

Despite videos out there on how easy it is to get your bike back up I found it a difficult chore. I have now increased the area where the kick stand touches the ground. Fairly easy mod, works well.

Matt, what are your thoughts on the comparatively frequent service intervals compared to the competition? The Pan America requires service almost twice as often as competitive bikes. Doesn't bother me as someone who changes oil more frequently on my bikes anyway, but what about the general consumer? Great to hear your thoughts 🤙
@MattLaidlaw
@MattLaidlaw Ай бұрын
Honestly I’m not super familiar with exactly what the competitions service entails. I believe, however, that their services require a lot more work and therefore are a lot more expensive. I know the KTMs require a valve adjustment which is VERY expensive. So even with the higher frequency I believe the competitors are still more expensive to maintain.
@TheMotoBarista
@TheMotoBarista Ай бұрын
@MattLaidlaw yeh I don't know the breakdown too, it would be an interesting comparison though and see how/why manufacturers are approaching service intervals so differently.
@TH3G0ODGUY
@TH3G0ODGUY Ай бұрын
Honestly I think the other manufacturers have it a bit backwards. Stretching out the service intervals on oil changes is both kinda pointless as oil is relatively cheap and almost every tech can attest that these super long oil change intervals on cars and bikes is not great for the engines. Also the fine print in the owners manual usually says things like “if used for x purpose change oil on more aggressive interval.” HD has its 5k interval for regular maintenance items like clutch adjustment and oil change, but has no interval for valve adjustment which is often a significant cost on other bikes. I’d rather have short intervals on oil and no intervals on valves like the pan am than long intervals on regular services with valve adjustments.
@brucem8129
@brucem8129 Ай бұрын
The service is very simple. With basic hand tools you can do 95% of it. There are no valve adjustments. And most people do not do 7 and 10k oil changes to prevent sludge in the motor.

Like a carry handle? Or have to carry like a box with both hands? Nice segment as always….
@TH3G0ODGUY
@TH3G0ODGUY Ай бұрын
Its kinda hard to list a single seat height because it can vary so much, between adaptive ride height, the adjustable seat position, and rider weight, it can vary up to 4 inches! Harley quotes 31.1 to 32 inches on their website for a 180 pound rider. But I found out that those specs are independently tested, and not always accurate, hence why the street glide and road glide are listed with different seat heights on the website lol. I can say that with adaptive ride height, at 5,8", 30 inch inseam, and 155 pounds with the reach seat I can flat floot. So if you have a 32 inch inseam you should be good, especially with the reach seat and adaptive ride height.

@TH3G0ODGUY
@TH3G0ODGUY Ай бұрын
Luckily you don't really pay for the paint on this CVO. Between the parts and labor its basically the same price as if you just added all the stuff from the P&A catalogue, even ignoring the paint. its like 7600 bucks for the options and the P&A stuff not including the bike cover and some of the things like the cam cover medalians/clutch cover stuff. So basically if you planned on doing all the stuff on the CVO anyways, you get the paint and powdercoating for basically free.

Seriously, but that's inline with pretty much all the big boys BWM KTM ETC.

There are a few other nice add ons also, and as Matt says it’s no more expensive than anyone else. You’re going to put a lot more into it if you buy a plain one and upgrade it. Buy the CVO and you are done, nothing else to do. You’re missing the advantage here.

By the time you put all the upgrades on a standard the CVO comes with from the factory, you’ve spent way more than you would have just buying the CVO. The paint is basically free, so it’s far from “$3500 for luggage.”
