2024 Harley Davidson Line Up - Why they cancelled the Street Glide and Road Glide

Harley-Davidson is SO lucky to have ladies like you out there promoting the brand in a non-promiscuous way! You’re the future I hope for my daughters. Not the debauchery that happens at the rallies. Females in Harley could revive the brand. If girls think Harley’s are good looking and comfortable the men will surely follow. Just, the old creepy ways of behaving are keeping people with money (class of society) away from the brand entirely. At this point, I’d rather my daughters join the dual sport/adventure community.

@@CorinnaHaimerl I still have a 2003 Super glide set up like a T-Sport/Tourer. But by far the most reliable Harley I ever had was my Evo Sportster. To me the death of the real Sportster in October 2022 what's the final nail in the coffin. I can't relate to the CVO culture that Zeits is promoting and I can never see myself riding anything with the Rev max engine. I feel completely alienated from Harley-Davidson in 2024.

Wow, I don't get that. I think that the new Softail frame is superb! And the M8 engine is very good. Runs cooler than the Twin-Cam with more power.

My next door neighbor, who owns our local HD dealership, that they are cutting models back on the touring bikes. They want the customers to order bikes from the factory the way they would like them set up. We'll see

i can't wait until the snow melts, so i can get back on my bike .... but looking forward to finding out about the new model year, it helps. my grampa worked at H-D from the 1920s to the 70s, and i currently have 5 concept submissions in ... so i hope for news of any of those going into development every year.

oh, you have to know your stuff....like serious. concept development is a tough gig. i have to think like everyone thinks, in every department, all at the same time, during every minute design decision .... because it has got to be good, or i am SOL.@@CorinnaHaimerl

my strategy is looking for holes in the line up, that have a market, thinking of the future market it would drop into, and thinking outside the box... i don't steep on the toes of existing products.@@CorinnaHaimerl

i mean i do computer aided design, but concept submissions just boil down to sparse CAD files, and typographical accompaniment .... the more detailed your drawings, the less likely it will go into development, ( to some degree ), because it would take them longer to check your work, than pin it up on the board and work the design up themselves. but you have to draw enough that you have your own concrete feasibility study behind you, and are confident that it's good to go, because one mistake would have them looking for more, only if they still thought it was worth that effort.@@CorinnaHaimerl

I love the HD look, but it’s an archaic performing bike unless you spend $15k in rebuilding it. I spent time on a 22 Road Glide last summer and I wouldn’t buy one. Cumbersome in the twisties and zero power. I’m not a fan of short shifting at 4,500 rpm’s. My 22 Indian Challenger is a much nicer bike and better value. Now, I bought a 22 BMW K1600b this past summer. The K1600b kicks the holy shit out of HD and Indian performance wise at 160hp and 133ft lbs of torque, stock, right out of the box! Redlines at 8,500rpms. It has every bell and whistle imaginable on it including linked brakes, quick shifter and REVERSE. The BMW isn’t perfect, but it’s leap years ahead of everyone else. Wind management sucks and the stereo is garbage. The looks are different but I have gotten used to them. But performance, it’s a bad ass bike! It hangs with anything on the highway except a 1 liter sport bike. The only performance thing I have done on my bike is a Bren Tune and she power wheelies straight up in the air at 50mph. Pretty impressive for an out of the box bagger. I did sell my Indian since I can’t justify two bikes since I’m not made out of money. BMW just has to much to offer in value in my opinion.

Harleys are slow motorcycle for the price you pay for these bike its a steal i went for a Triumph Rocket 3 GT and right out of the box its beats hands down a Harley even more powerful that the CVO with there 121ci motor ive got with my Rocket a 153ci motor so the choice is easy Rocket 3 all day.
