Hi Good video. Think on question 7, it should be the maximum value of the discriminant is -4, not when k = -4. (is at k= -1 as you had earlier in the working.)

Why do you differentiate the equation in question 7? what does that do to be able to get k?

in the first derivative, ie y'(k), when it's = 0 we have stationary points. In graphs, max and min points occur at turning points or start and endpoints or stationary points. It helps us find the biggest value of k as it is a max tp when k = -1
