Anyone who knows football can clearly see Tayven Jackson is the most talented quarterback. Jackson throws the best ball, the most accurate ball and he goes through his reads and progressions the fastest and best. He is the most accurate and throws the most prettiest ball. I know Rourke was a former MAC player of the year and has the most experience, but he is not the best option at quarterback. Jackson is the most talented and gives this team the best chance to win on the football field. Jackson also gives them the highest ceiling! Rourke is a good backup at this level in the big ten, but he should not be the starter. Jackson was by far the best quarterback. Rourke easily could have and should have thrown about 4 or 5 interceptions in this game. Jackson was sharp, accurate, confident, decisive and threw the best deep ball, intermediate ball and short ball! Jackson made one fatal mistake in this game and he needs to learn from it! I know Cignetti is a good football coach, but I hope he doesn't let his stubbornness, or ego blind him from seeing the truth and hurting his football team. There needs to be a competition and some quarterback controversy going into the season for IU! May the best man win the job! Both Jackson and Cherry have bright futures ahead of them, even if they don't win a starting job this year. They need to keep developing, learning and getting better. Keep learning the system and keep improving for next year, even if they don't start this year, they need to be ready to come in, especially if there were an injury. you just never know, but Jackson and Cherry both have a lot of talent. They just need to continue to mature and develop their games!

I agree that Tayven has a higher ceiling but he was also going against the 2’s while Kurtis was going against the 1’s. It’s the same thing when you watch a backup go against the 2’s and 3’s in the NFL preseason. Kurtis will be a more prepaired and seasoned vet this year vs Tayven. Even in this game you watch Kurtis engineer a 2 min drive to win the game and that was again against the 1’s for the most part. Kurtis will be the perfect guy to roll out week one and he will give us the best chance to win early and often. We couldn’t have a better situation at QB if you ask me. Let’s just hope Tayven doesn’t give up and transfer in this next offseason especially when we land the 4/5 star JuJu for the 2025 class.
