2024 Horror Movies Ranked (So Far): From Frights to Flops!

Thought it would be a fun ideo to do a #ranking all of the #scary movies I’ve seen this year while I’m waiting for my Xbox to be fixed! I hope you can all accept this as a gift while you wait for the next episode of Resident Evil 4. Horror Movies are pretty much all I watch so sit back relax and let the spook master take you on a lil ride ok…?
Please give me feedback! I didn’t spend all this time for nothing so if theres anything I can be doing better please let me know.

I started watching this at 2am and planned to only watch for a minute or 2 then go to bed… it is now 2:30 am and I gotta say, 10/10 video, loved the editing style really hooked me in,made me watch the whole 31 minutes, and made it feel like 5 minutes. Wish long legs got more time but with its disappointing ending, I 100% understand

This is a dumb and insignificant correction but the offspring sequence at the end of Alien Romulus is a *FOURTH act. I promise I’m not pretentious it’s just fourth acts are very iconic to both the entire Alien Franchise and Fede Alvarez as a director. Seeing it constantly get referred to as a third act has gotten under my skin simply because of how it is so intentionally NOT supposed to be a part of the third act like its driving me crazy LMAO

First time viewer, and this is a pretty good list! Can’t agree more on In a Violent Nature. Personally, it IS my favorite horror film of the year so far, and the only film I feel may top it is Eggers’ remake of Nosferatu this December (but we’ll see of course). A bit surprised A Quiet Place: Day One wasn’t here, but in case you haven’t seen it yet, I can’t recommend it enough. Easily my second favorite studio horror this year behind Alien: Romulus.

I wasn’t upset with Tarot, because I knew exactly what it was gonna be when I saw the trailer. So it was more just a fun movie to watch with my friends for me than anything else. I was also so excited for Longlegs and Late Night With The Devil. But I feel like I was let down by both endings for vastly different reasons. Like Longlegs ended and I was like “What that’s it?” and then Late Night I was kinda just like “Okay we get it.” I wish Longlegs went harder and darker with a completely different approach, and I wish Late Night was more grounded and raw. Also I got really excited for The First Omen after the 70s throwback trailer and part of me kind of wished it was all filmed with that grainy 70s footage.

I feel the same way about Tarot and Longlegs. I went in knowing Tarot would be stupid, and I had a blast. I didn't even have high expectations for Longlegs, and it still disappointed me. My husband, my parents, and I watched it this past weekend, and "That's it??" summed up our experience exactly.

I've seen 18 new horror movies so far this year and would rank them as follows (worst to best): The Deliverance The Watchers Arcadian Maxxxine Alien: Romulus (controversial, I know) Lovely, Dark, and Deep Trap Immaculate In a Violent Nature Milk & Serial Out of Darkness Somewhere Quiet Stopmotion Late Night With The Devil Longlegs The First Omen I Saw the TV Glow You'll Never Find Me I'm really looking forward to Nosferatu and Heretic, and I haven't caught Cuckoo or Speak No Evil yet, plus a few others I'd like to get around to this year. Really enjoyed this video and I hope you make more like it!

I went out to see 3 horror movies with my best friend during the summer 1. The Watchers 2. The Strangers 3. A Silent Place Day One (not sure if its horror tbh) I don't regret any of them because it WAS a fun time but GOD did the we scream about how stupid the people in the strangers are. Also we kinda liked the watchers for some reason we thought it was cool enough

I saw LATE NIGHT WITH THE DEVIL at a theater with a friend, it was a last minute decision and we had ZERO expectations. We loved it, it felt a little more like a horror/comedy: at the end when the skeptic offered the check to the possessed girl, I burst out laughing, there's no way that wasn't an intentional bit of dark humor. I liked the lead a lot, but the girl was outstanding, she was so awkward and she made me so uncomfortable. And MAN, I loved that 70's set design!!! I saw LONGLEGS alone AFTER they hype, I didn't hate it, but I was disappointed. Sure, Cage was entertaining, he can play a character like THAT in his sleep, I was much more impressed with the lead. I take nothing away from Cage, but the lead actress, I love "IT FOLLOWS" and I had no idea that was her until after the movie. LONGLEGS has good moments, but I think the hype killed it for me. I was disappointed with it 😔.
