I’ve just watched this and OMG I resonate with every single thing you speak about, which is why I’m one of your students!!!!❤❤❤ I can’t begin to tell you how happy I am to be part of your program and how fantastic it is. I never thought I’d be capable of having a herd of 6, and perhaps one day I’ll have more 😃, but the learning and teaching is like no other, and I’ve been down the road of ‘natural horsemanship’, back when P Parelli started getting out there. We can only pray that one day your method will be part of every horses life, as they so rightly deserve xoxo

I used to poo poo your statement that it is all about the relationship but now that I have lived with horses for 10 years, I am open to your interpretation

Hi Christine and Welcome! I've seen some of his videos. It's all the same to me, meaning he's like most. If I knew a horse had issues with trailering, such as this horse in his video kzbin.info/www/bejne/aXWZdIOCntWZpdE, I would go about it differently. I would not begin with working at the trailer. All you're going to do is re-trigger the horse, just like he did. Then it becomes a fight. Even though he appears nice enough and gentle enough, he's still forcing the horse to deal with the trailer. I want the horse to be in a place where they are confident and trusting enough to acccept the trailer. This means my approach is completely different, beginning with an assessment of the horse, which has nothing to do with the trailer. The trailer (any fear) is a symptom of something deeper that needs to get fixed. In the end, all fear comes from these 3 things: lack of self-regulation, trust, confidence. When we can fix these 3 things we fix everything. I have specific exercises designed to help the horse balance their nervous system, reset it so-to-speak while building trust with me or their guardian. My assessments are 3 hours. Most of the time I can reintroduce the horse to the scary thing within that time and after I've worked on those 3 areas, and if the horse isn't ready yet to emotionally handle the scary thing (trailer) at least I can create a totally different, and positive experience with the scary thing. I then give the guardian homework so they can continue developing, rehabbing, their horse when I leave.

I really enjoyed your podcast, I just wish I had the positive energy you have. I'm a horse owner, but I wouldn't consider myself a horseman(woman).
