Appreciate the effort on getting the new video out. I’ll give this a shot. I should’ve known a free game was going to be pushing micro transactions left and right. My girlfriend and I play a lot of Crash Team Racing together and I was just looking for a new racing game to play with her. I think we’ll have some fun with this, but man, did they make it needlessly complicated.

No problem! This is actually the *second* time I made a new account to answer a question or make a guide. I wish I could say I did the grind so you don't have to, buuuut with this, you're going to have to grind it out too. 😅 The bright side is I saved you and others time of trying to figure it out. I spent a few extra hours seeing if there was a better way to do it for free but that's the best that I've found. (also crash team racing is goat! 😂)

Thanks for the tip... it is so frustrating, as the levels and music are pretty cool, and all I want is to play with my kids at home. They should've allow at least a limited local multiplayer with only handful of characters while the other progression takes place.

I don't know why they lock multiplayers. Or they should have mentioned in game info (multiplayer unlock available) etc. instead of 2 player, 4 players etc.. simply wasted my time and space.

I love Belle. Got her at around 46 now. She can take those turns fast and with that cloak so high you can save yourself a lot of worry. Shame they nerfed her again though....

As much as I love this game, I find it really sad that you’re advising people NOT to play it. I understand your position and I don’t blame you for feeling the way you do. I just really don’t want to see the game die. I just want it to improve. But as long as whales are willing to spend money on this game, Gameloft has no motivation to change anything. In multiplayer I’m frequently seeing matches with four humans and four bots. I play around midnight to 2 AM so I don’t know if that’s just a slow time or if the player base is really falling off that badly.

I only recommend not playing because I feel like I understand why most players would want to give the game a try, but I also know the game doesn't currently provide that experience anymore. As for the bot thing, I think it's coded like that. Less players mean less Multiplayer points you can earn. (more humans, more points) The system does a couple of things like that to keep players stalling for a little longer it feels like. 1. Less players to slow your point gain (especially in the low ranks/mid ranks). 2. Put you against unwinnable 1 or 2 man lobbies with higher levels/stars (especially if you're winning a lot or climbing fast) Not saying it's 100% fact, but I've noticed it during multiple character runs. That's just my personal experience throughout multiple seasons. I don't think the game will die, I think they are very good at making the same players want to keep paying for stuff. Until a player realizes it's an unclimbable mountain, they will continue to buy. All they need to do is add characters players want and make it extremely hard to get without paying, people will always pay for something they really want. Leaderboard players will always pay no matter what. Disney Speedstorm is pay to win and they are forced to do so if they want to stay in top spots. Gameloft is smart at making money and as long as they have the Disney as part of speedstorm, I don't think it's a game that will die. (even if the game becomes unplayable for those who don't pay, which it looks to be getting closer to that each season)

Bro I promise you that's the whole reason I came back on Disney's speed storm is because on local play you can play with an entire cast of characters to see what they can do on different tracks related to them and I come back on here come to find out that I can't even do that I was super shocked and very upset to the point where I said why would they even change this so now if I want to have more characters I'm going to have to grind for the shards it's ridiculous but that's just something I'm going to have to deal with and have to do 😒😒😒😒😬

I don't know of many solid racers in general, not just on switch. Also, if you don't mind spending money, it's not a bad game. If I were to come to it at this point and time, I wouldn't play. I wouldn't have any intention of spending and the deeper the seasons go, the harder it is to get things as free to play. I made a podcast talking about it recently. It's the last video I put out.

You can check the character by going to your collections and selecting Mickey. You should also be able to see other characters you own. To unlock collection 3, you'll need to have one 2 star and 2 1 star characters. If your collection level is still a bit low, you can roll a multiplayer box in the shop.

Hello I have having a frustrating time with this game and I enjoy it but sadly I have less than 100xp to get to collection level 3 and anything that I do doesn’t do anything to get that. I have tried everything that you said in the video and I just want help before erase this game and play Mario kart forever.

There is are no more chapters. Starter circuit is one chapter. For more chapters like in the video, you go to "season tour" mode.

Video was updated at the time. What you see now most likely isn't what is there anymore. Been about 3 seasons? Level 10 could possibly be the new collection level for the game. Player rank is prob what they go off of now.

Your videos are superior to skyliners videos, simply because you speak about the game with free to play players in mind while also acknowledging the benefits that some players could have with the game if they invested a few dollars at strategic moments and select times. Great example, grind a season, save gold, transfer it into premium currency at the end of the season. Two million gold transfers into 800 premium coins. Skyliner says this is a useless method and recommends spending the gold instead. I respect his opinion. It honestly is about perspective though, considering i am reluctant to invest too much real money towards a game that could be unavailable to play someday in the distant future.

If your smart with ur gold save to invest to have all characters to 3 stars buy there shards when available will help out players with most if not all challenges given in battle pass mission

If you keep the gold, you can't really acquire shards from the shop or invest in upgrades for your racers. So I agree with Skyliner, you are much better off investing in your characters. 800 premium coins won't even give you a season pass. To each their own, you can play the way you want and you will have your fun. I started in the beginning of early access and only got the regular founder pack, then the ultimate pack when it was on sale. But I never spent anything other than a couple of bucks here and there when I saw a very good offer in the shop and didn't want to use existing resources.

Oh wow, that's big brained. I never thought of that. You will be guarantee to have the next seasons pass and when a pack on sale comes for your racer, you're good to go (whether premium tokens or coins). @@poppinoftenwithlofton6036 the return on the gold is 2500:1, so it does require a substantial amount in order to receive enough tokens for the next seasons pass. However, it does make the season pass essentially free to obtain. And if there happens to be things worth purchasing throughout the season and some gold is spent, there's still the grind of the multiplayer that can earn the extra premium currency. It truly does come down to preference but for myself, I'm going to be saving as much as I can for this season, as I've already obtained most of the racers, several of which are three and four stars.

I will say that this Starter Circuit has definitely been nerfed to the worst state possible for brand new players who wish to join in on this game. With them reducing the events and rewards drastically to only one chapter is too little. Assuming you never planned to disclose what were the rewards after finishing each event in there? Plus as they say, you get one character to start with after Mickey Mouse himself. Here are gonna be problems cause during season 4-5 you not just get Mickey but you get Donald and Goofy too which all 3 become 2☆ racers ready for multiplayer. Even they still give you Mulan as a 1☆ only for free and some premium tokens at least. I think as they put, early access had 6 chapters that you played as Mulan, Hercules, and Jack Sparrow and get a chance to unlock them I presume? Even I saw it even gives ya 900 tokens too to get a gold pass. I can say this starter circuit is more of a scam now to new players cause sure you get to select one racer to unlock for free. Its a good deal for them that they can even choose Belle as she is the only Epic Racer to get Shards for free cause as said its super rare to get her shards nowadays. But then what? Now Goofy is no longer a starting character so he is gonna be a bit tough to unlock later on. So pretty much getting from 6 racers, to 3 2☆racers w/ 1 1☆racer to now a mere 2 1☆racers. Plus even Jack, Mike, Jessie, probably both Mulan and Donald are gonna be tough to get their shards in the universal box cause more stuff added means harder to obtain them. Sure Belle be a lot easier but as said, she isn't as good these days due to not getting much buffs nor her specials are much. So thats about it on my honest opinion that this Starter Circuit is the worst of them all.

I have another account I made a long time ago, basically near free to play and yea you get a LOT more. You even got rewards for completing the circuit. I think it's strange they let you unlock ranked in like one or two races, but not the other modes to enjoy yourself. That really shows they are gunning for money before the new player experience. 😞

Especially pairing up with players that have high lvl racers but their skills aren't there compared to new players with low lvl racers. Even including us experienced but we are handicapped with lvls which is not fair
