The 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV is an all-electric reimagining of one of the most iconic, bad-ass off-road machines of the last century. Its unmistakable design and remarkable off-road capabilities are faithfully upheld in EV form. In fact, the latter will arguably be even more impressive thanks to the SUV's advanced technology, incredible power output, and innovative features, including four-wheel steering, enabling the much ballyhooed crab mode. The most interesting aspect of the reinvented Hummer is its Ultium battery tech, which provides quick charging times and a massive battery pack that provides an estimated range of 300-plus miles. Inside the cabin, it is visually identical to its pickup-truck counterpart, with a mix of high-tech content and removable roof panels that create an open-air experience.
Following in the tire marks of the new Hummer EV pickup, which will start production about two years earlier, the upcoming SUV version will offer a different body style with a shorter wheelbase when the first editions begin reaching GMC dealerships in early 2023.
Unfortunately, the 2024 Hummer EV SUV won't go on sale for another couple of years, but GMC has released pricing and is currently accepting reservations.
Based on the Hummer EV pickup truck­-and hinted at by the superscript in their model names-the SUV version will be powered by two or three electric motors.
The EV2 and EV2X have the dual-motor setup that generates an estimated 625 horsepower and what GM is claiming to be 7400 pound-feet of torque.
The EV3X and the Edition 1 have a trio of motors (one up front and two out back) with a claimed 830 ponies and 11,500 pound-feet.
Every Hummer benefits from GM's new Ultium battery technology, which makes it considerably more eco-friendly than the old gas-guzzling H2 and H2 SUT. While the base EV2 model features a standard 400-volt electrical system, it's also offered with the 800-volt system that comes standard on every other trim.
GM has already said that the Hummer EV will have a huge 200.0-kWh battery pack, but we still don't know the official size or its useable capacity. Still, along with fast charging speeds of up to 300 kW, the electrified SUV has a claimed driving range of over 300 miles.
It's shorter and less powerful than the truck, but it still has the same dominant presence with 35-inch tires, bulging fenders, and an optional air suspension that can raise it six inches.
The ultra-loaded Edition 1 model will arrive first, finished in Moonshot Green Matte (pictured), starting at $105,595, to coincide with the release of the pickup version. These new electric Hummers won't be alone in the marketplace, though, because the Rivian R1T pickup and R1S SUV go on sale later this year.
All models but the base $79,995 model get four-wheel steering with CrabWalk, plus the air suspension and 22-inch wheels wrapped in 35-inch Goodyear all-terrain tires. GM's Super Cruise hands-free driving technology is standard on all Hummers, as is the ability to use a phone in place of the key.
The somewhat exclusive 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV Edition 1 starts at $105,595 for the on-road edition with 22-inch premium wheels, floor liners, assist steps, and special badging. Adding the Extreme Off-Road package boosts the price by $5,000.
Buyers who want the full power of the three electric motors but at less cost can wait for the trim level in the spring of 2023 with a starting price of $99,995. The price tag drops by $10,000 for the two-motor, 625-hp GMC Hummer EV2X, also due in spring 2023.
The longest wait is for the base two-motor Hummer EV2, which won't arrive until the spring of 2024-same timeframe as the base Hummer EV2 pickup-and the price drops another $10,000 to $79,995. Range falls to 250 miles on a single charge with the EV2 but the power is the same as the 2X. And the base SUV uses 400-volt fast charging while the rest of the lineup uses 800 volts. Upgrading to 800-volt capability is an option.

It depends on how you dress the old Hummer i know people custom the inside of H2 and H3 had it raised up with nice expensive Huge tires and black rims. Tires makes a huge difference and the right rims.

@@bobbijore Hummer with no rust or door dings crispy clean interior plus lifted with nice grip tires and rims makes a huge difference. I would love to have the bucket seat in a H3 the second and two seats the 3rd row all the way to the back window where you can let down forward to store luggage for traveling. How is the H3 on gasoline and how much it take to fill up the gas tank.
