In case you find it interesting: The Q in Husqvarna is pronounced as a hard K. Hus-Kvarna. Hus = House, Kvarn = Mill. Today the city where it the company got it's name is spelled Huskvarna.

I went with the Expedition this past spring. I'm 6'+ in my socks, so the height wasn't a factor for me. The included, Exlorer Mode, WP Explor suspension package, the center stand, heated grips and heated seat, paniers, for me, made the additional $1,200 (US) a no brainer. I've got 1,300 miles now, and I'm still pinching myself every ride.

I am in love with my 2023 901 standard version, but after 6.500 km around different regions of NSW and South Australia I decided to rebuild front and rear suspension and a great sticker kit.

That's all I would do also. I'm not paying the extra $5,000 price difference for the explorer here in the states. $11,500 discounted price for regular 901 vs $16,500 for the expedition with no discounts available.

There is a metal piece to isolate the rear suspension from cat heat. Or a decat solution may solve the problem.

What do we think ❓❓🤔🤔 - Well, pitty it's so tall. Accordingly to most of the owners / testers on y-tube, it performs very well. Looks - also nothing to complain..... Only Q = reliability, which seem to vary - from engine leaks to shocks' collaps....

Yet another touring bike discussion which, other than a brief mention of tank size and estimated range, included no discussion of actual touring capabilities. No mention of luggage, sub-frame strength, GVWR, passenger comfort, alternator capacity, ease of maintenance or overall reliability. Adventure TOURING bikes are TOURING bikes.

Off-road riding (!) mode does NOT disable the ABS by default! at least not on the 2022 modell. The ABS mode 'offroad' however does! Two different things☝

Nice on Bob, I'm looking for a new bike as my XRV750 is getting hard to get parts for these days so will not be on it as much. I'd like to see what the service intervals are and the cost of servicing as I was looking at the Desert X and here in the land of OZ Ducati want $2000 plus for it's 15K service. not for me that one!

Hmm, seems bob's too busy to reply so I'll give it a go. I'm a bob if it matters & I also own a 24' Expedition. I ride it every day in all weather, on & off road, the only thing that's had me over the handle bars is pine needles on top of oak leafs, & that time I stalled attempting a bicycle mount in the cold (let it idle a bit in winter) Plus misjudging the depth of a water hole thinking tentativeness is for wimps...thrown so far I stayed dry, which was fun. Parked it in a new spot, soft ground, tipped over in the night, windscreen all twisted against a post, picked it up & hell yeah ! Turns out the plexy they use is pliable ! Barely a scratch (little stress fogging but totally fine) 1st oil change don't listen to blogs, same hook to remove O-rings pulls filter out easy. Fantastic* to clean 2 permanent filters/magnets + compressed air w/a rare earth magnet (more powerful) to remove assembly shavings. Bing boom bob's yr unc. Press up/down at same time to clear & set service interval $540 bucks saved. Haven't had dealer plug in propitiatory diagnostic tool yet so don't know what they'll charge but I do all my own service other than that. Suffice it to say I too am loving this bike. Great on road, maybe a touch heavy on tight single track but over all a frigg'n gas.

@@YABBAHEY1 🏅🏅🏅 Well said good sir! I put deposit down 10/22 and picked it up on 3/30/23. I hit 10,000 miles just short of a year and it has let me down zero times. Recently had the immobilizer light come on saying it wasn’t going to start once turned off but it was false alarm and never came back on the next day. I have only let it down once that hurt it moe than a scratch or two. Dropped it in a ditch and the curved ditch went between “barkbusters” and skid plate and broke the left front plastic. Guess how much it cost for one side? $550! But at least I was able to get it right away. Haven’t changed it yet as I’m deciding on crash bars or not. We’re very blessed to have IMO the best mid weight ADV and for my needs the absolute #1 bike period. And yeah I’m quick to get on one of my CRF dual sports or te300i 2T for the hard stuff but the beast will do anything! Just so darn heavy at slow speeds once it tips the slightest bit but these are things we knew going into it I guess. Just put Motoz on and got a flat (nail) immediately and now have Tusk 2 Track to put on today or tomorrow and then trying the new Mitas. What are you using? I ran thru a couple scorpion STRs before mud and gravel had me needing more and so glad I did get some knobbies. But I do live in the blue ridge mountains of NC. Enjoy 🏍️💨

@@lukefish7562 Still on original scorpions, likely go w/60-40 'whudeversonsale' brand cuz round heya you have to ride 75mi+ on road to get to decent woods where one's not taken out by forest ranger swat for scaring non native gray squirrels. Which is fine as I wouldn't want a bunch of dirtbikes buzzing me on a hike ether. Bummer bout body damg. $550 expensive but not as ludicrous as I would've guessed. Scandinavia's economy is kicking our ass. (Kicking everyone's) Price u pay to be king of the woods. KINGOFTHENORTH !! heh-heh

Even though we have some good dirt roads and such I still wear them out pretty quick no matter the brand. You’re right about the price of the plastic and I wasn’t that shocked either. Just glad I could get one because I don’t mind some scratches but busted plastic is a lil too “raw”. 😆 Enjoy that beast and stay safe! 🏍️💨

I’d love the Svartpilen 901 to be based on the 990 SMT and therefore be more of a sport tourer than this full on Adventure bike i.e. with 17” rims and sports rubber. Half way between this and the Duke 890 based Vitpilen 901 in other words. As it stands I think the Svartpilen and the Vitpilen are going to be almost identical. Pity.

Not true! I am 170cm tall (real currency here - do your own math!) inseam 72cm (again +×÷=-) and every bike I have ridden was to tall for me, except my Suzuki LS650, but thats a different story.... I simply lowered my Norden by 30mm (you calculations apply) - what makes the Norden an excellent bike for smaller riders -LOW CENTER of gravity. Stop getting afraid of numbers. My VSTROM 650 2011 is 1kg heavier than the Norden, still the Norden feels 20-30kg lighter!!! The low CG is amazing. The percepted CG on the VSTROM was 1m abovs the tank. On my test ride (stock height!) I was able tko push the bike backwards with my feet. This was the first bike in the last 15 years I could do this.... I have been riding for over 35 years, various continents... The amount of self confidence this bike gives me is unparalleled! Ride safe! ☝

That's exactly why. I bought mine only because of the styling. I love KTMs. The preform really god. But I don't like the style. This is a way for the manufacturer to sell more bikes. They don't need to invent the wheel twice.

Interesting to note, the seat on the Norden is WAY more comfortable than the plank on the 890.

@martyn_g I've only tried a ktm 790 adventure r (maybe?). And yeah, it sure does have a plank! But! It was surprisingly different from my norden. Taler bike (duh?). And the quick shifter felt better. Fun fact. Changed my seat to a comfort seat to match my black wrap over the white and yellow. It's not as comfortable as the stock seat.
