Totally agree and awesome to see someone taking a built EV racecar straight to the track!

I spotted one today in NYC! Red color though! Looks super sharp in person!

Nice! Red is definitely a rare colour. I’ve only seen a handful of blue ones in the road

Unlike the U.S. 2024 M3P ... there hasn't been a stock I5N that's done 10s. Quickest I've seen so far is 11.1 stock. Quickest M3P time was 10.82 stock. Also the 60 - 130 is nearly a 0.6 - 0.7 quicker than the Hyundai (~8.6 vs ~9.2 area) although the Hyundai's rear drive unit won't start to leak after some use ;)
@ZappedAU2 ай бұрын
I think at the end of the day - M3P is not a direct com petitor to the IONIQ 5N. 5N is a Model Y sized car so we really should be comparing it to that. Putting that aside - I'm sure both cars behave very differently on track as opposed to straight line speed.

Nice runs! What was the SOC? What settings did the owner use?
@ZappedAU10 ай бұрын
SOC for the IONIQ 5N was around 80%. It was on the Drag settings/mode for the battery to ensure it was at optimal temp and then just had it on "auto hold" then just plant foot down.
@sebajfobi10 ай бұрын
@@ZappedAU thanks, so no launch control used?
@ZappedAU10 ай бұрын
@@sebajfobiNone! The owner did have a chat with some people from Hyundai and they said just put it on auto hold then plant your foot!
@simonsancartier74174 ай бұрын
@@ZappedAU If 'people from Hyundai' means his dealer, I've found out people who are looking into buying this car and checked out more than 2 videos know more than most dealers do about their own cars (moreso on the N that they likely don't get to drive). That was the case when I got my 5N. Likely the dealer just hadn't figured out how to use launch control. That said, with the ideal conditions of a drag strip, launch mode may not have made as much of a difference as if he was on a low/med grip surface, which is a setting for the launch control.

Can they be 'tuned' to go any faster? Ot 11.2 is pretty much it?
@ZappedAU10 ай бұрын
There is no "tune" like how you can turn up the PSI in forced induction vehicles or change the fuel/fuel ratios. The car does have a crazy amount of settings you can play with and there is always tyre pressures that you can fiddle around with too. My guess is - it could be faster.

Can go even faster if you remove the child booster seat in the back 😅

I have a model Y, don’t bother lining up, the ioniq 5n will smoke it by a mile, I’d buy one in an instant, but I use AP everywhere and nothing compares right now

I'd love to see my MY P go against this. I am 100% confident that I will get smoked but the question is... by how much?! :)
@rickytran23788 ай бұрын
@@ZappedAU MY P will only do 11.9 @113mph at best. The IONIQ 5N trap speed is 10mph more in the 1/4mile.

my 2023 M3P does 1/8th @ 7.300... best i've seen this jukebox go is 7.306 1/8th :) Best quarter 11.38 vs the 11.24 best here. I know in quarter it will get me... but not by a mile at all lol!

12s in a ev6 gt his soc had to be low 40 % low
@sebajfobi10 ай бұрын
It ran 11.6@116, which is also odd. When mine runs a 11.6, it has a trap speed of at least 118.
@ZappedAU10 ай бұрын
I didn't think about asking in that session but I would say it could probably do abit better. Also - Unsure if you can see in the video at all but the EV6 GT has a tow bar (Not sure how heavy they are but that definitely adds weight!)

What SOC was yours at when you took yours?
@sebajfobi10 ай бұрын
@@ZappedAU not much, my best is 11.4@121 mph at @90% SOC. I also gathered data for all modes and al SOC scenarios in 10% steps. 11.6 can be done from 50-70% anytime. With a higher trap speed than 116 usually.
